My favorite watercolor paper and they have a watercolor journal, too. I really enjoy using this paper.

@Pointebrush - FYI - Baohong 'Academy' is their Student grade, while their professional is called 'Artist'. Meeden Art Supplies sells Baohong Academy under the Meeden name; identified as the Baohong product.

@@griffinharvey3910 I read a comment on a different video that the academy line is getting discontinued. Is this true?
@griffinharvey39108 ай бұрын
@@pastelmacaroon Wow! That's the first I've heard of it! Any idea the source of it? I find it hard to imagine they would discontinue it, as their sales are booming in the more recent couple of years. They've hooked up with more vendors, and have sent product to many on line artists with channels for review. It's that awareness that has made their name become known. Because it's 100% cotton, without a huge difference in the 2 products, they could decide it doesn't make sense to produce both, and go forward with the one with the higher price point. Artist - Master's Choice. Will be interesting to find out more!

So do I! And honestly I use the student grade academy which is giving my arches a run for it’s money 😂

The Academy version of this brand is just as good, if not better, than the “professional” Baohong. 😊

I just began with watercolor and I ordered a small pad of their 200 g paper on a whim. I was completely blown away. I love that it now even has Margot approval!❤❤❤ Will try the 300 g version next.

I've been using Baohong for 3 years now, it's an amazing paper for it's price point, and their travel pads are beautiful

Just received my first pad - a whole new experience working on this Academy paper, loving it! Yes it 😅s 100% cotton, yes it is more expensive, but the price difference is well worth it and the experience is awesome!

They are connected to Meeden. It's really nice paper. This and Arches are my two go to papers.

So much to learn. I have been dabbling in paint for a few years now. Learning from home using KZbin and Pinterest for 3 or 4 years now. I am now going from acrylic to water color and what a different experience. In a very challenging way. So many questions. Starting with brushes. Do I need 2 different sets? What are the best brands to invest in? And I like challenging myself to stay with a brush for the fine details so what are some best fine point brush options? Thank you. And the paper help is greatly appreciated.

This was paper used after Canson XL. It’s not Arches & learned each watercolor paper has its own pro’s & cons! Got the “student grade” & except for lifting colors off actually not bad paper & saw comment that “artist grade” of this paper doesn’t mean it’s better! Don’t paint like Bob Ross did but will do (practice one’s on BH) paper & also Arches 😊.

Thanks for the info lovely lady. I was hoping for a huge bargain. It's about the same price as Canson XL. That works beautifully.
@loricallister5836Ай бұрын
Soooo much better than Canson for absorbing water rather rhat sitting on top paper. Give it a try

Yeah they aren’t cheap in the U.K. 😂 20 sheets of baohong paper is around £70 which makes it more expensive than Arches

No way!!! That’s crazy! I’m wondering if it’s a customs and taxation thing. What a shame because the paper really is a terrific value over on this side of the pond
@lindairvine507 ай бұрын
That is incorrect, it's 20.00 including delivery on eBay. Same brand 100% cotton 20 sheets.

help!!!!!!!!! how do i separate the pages? i tried with a palette knife and it's not going well :((((((((( is there a secret?
@Pointebrush8 ай бұрын
Try a butter knife! A bone folder can do the job too but I find that a blunt butter knife is the best. And go slowly as you work your way around the perimeter of the block 👍
@sandorkocso17988 ай бұрын
thank you. tried better with waddling the knife and they came out unripped but the residue is annoying :))) i now find out they are stacked like that to keep the page as flat as possible before you break it off the block @@Pointebrush

i use the blunt side of a narrow butter knife and it comes off clean :)
