For Christmas last year I made a ton of Christmas tree scrubbies. I went to Walmart and bought a skein of green and a skein of red scrubby yarn and I bought a skein of white, green, and red cotton yarn and made tons of little trees they literally took like less than 10 mins to make and mixed and matched all the colors and they turned out beautiful. So for less than $10 I made tons of trees. I used the daisy farm crafts tree scrubby pattern.

I have been binging your videos lately. I decided to pick up the hook again. I have been a Redheart yarn and Susan Bates/ Boye hooks kind of crocheter. After watching several of your videos I decided to try some of the budget yarns you suggested and am amazed at the difference it is making in my latest project. So I started listening to what you have said about hooks. I really didn't think that there would be a big difference between hooks. So I ordered a set of Clover Amour. What the heck have I been doing all this time! I am getting ready to get rid of all my other hooks. These are SO good.

Based on experience, my advice is to ask before you start a project. I crocheted a lovely cream colored triangle shawl for a daughter and she said, "Thanks Mom but I don't wear shawls". One of my sisters lovingly crocheted a scarf and a headband for our other sister who doesn't wear them. So much time and effort to no avail. 😓

Awesome gift ideas! I've been busy and am just getting to get my gifts together. I know it won't take me long since I had planned to either do coasters or kitchen towels and I'd gone to Dollar Tree and gotten yarn already. The scrunchies idea is perfect for my granddaughter and her mom. And I have face scrubbies already done so that will be a great gift also for my daughter in law. I love making little gift bags! It's a great way to use up scrap yarn, or to play with new yarn! What I've done is use ribbon for the draw string. It's sort of cheating, but you can get a bunch of different colors and it's really inexpensive. I love making coasters too--in fact, I'm using a crocheted one now for my coffee. But I prefer stars. Nothing against granny squares (I love those too!), I just learned the pattern and got a little carried away. By which I mean, I have....a lot.....of stars.

We have 3 dollar trees I visited last month. One had ZERO yarn, one had 2 pitiful boxes in 2 separate aisles, and the third is opening next month!!! Hoping they do a better job with their yarn 🧶 😊

Oh, that is so frustrating! I know how lucky I am to have such a well-stocked craft section at my Dollar Tree! 🧶
