The only problem is that their boxes rarely have enough weapons to equip an entire box the same. Thankfully, they are less than half the price of. GW infantry so you can buy two boxes and make two full units

The Perry Miniatures range is brilliant for both Empire and Brettonia, I’m looking at them for a border princes exile faction. Value for money is brilliant, they even have some metal bombards to use as proxy great cannons

for the templates, there are clear stickers you can get for ink jet printers, print out, stick to the flat plastic of your choice and cut out, now you have translucent templates.

If it helps people: the small blast template has a 3" diameter and the large blast has 5". As for the flame template, it's 8" long and that's as much as I know offhand. The thicker end might have a diameter of 2" and the thin end maybe 1/2", but I'm sure guides online will have better info than my memory.

Even Better yet, if you still have one of those CD-RW retail stack cases, the inside diameter of the lid for the case is 5". You can then have a super awesome little widget that you can easily place down on the table if you cut out the the outside to make a standing template.

For goblin player check out shield wolf miniature from Greece. There "wild" goblins you get 25 models for like $1.25 each in hard plastic. You get shields, hand weapons/spears and bows. Plus full command.

North Star Military Figures has a number of Goblin and Orc kits, as well as metal character models, for their Oathmark line. I especially like the Goblin Slaves kit, as it really sells the idea of an unwashed horde. (I just like the models, too). The Oathmark line includes Goblin Wolf Riders, which is cool too.

Vitrix revealed some fantastic looking mounted knights due for release soon. They are 13th century style so a bit more like the GW style than the Perry miniatures (which are later). Some brilliant alternatives for Bretonnian and Empire troops amongst Historical ranges, much cheaper too.

Great video!!! Working my way through some Perry's as we speak (er... type)! A few thoughts - I prefer the English Agincourt army box over the War of the Roses bill and bow. The Agincourt tunics/gambison are longer and feel more "medieval." They're also a slightly larger scale which I prefer. ASOIAF miniature game has some great cavalry kits. I'm using Tully Cavaliers and Riders of Highgarden for knights of the realm and Hedge Knights and Champions of the Stag as questing. Throw in some Perry mounted knights for errant and Lost Kingdom 3D prints (Etsy) for grail knights and you've get a distinct gradiation of style/scale across the four main cavalry types. Anyhoo I'm excited - great video again!

For the Realm Knights, I'd also recommend Fireforge again, as they have a set of plastic knights. They actually have multiple separate ones, mainly in the Historical ranges. But they've got one filed under the same Forgotten World -> Albion tab as the pegasus knights. That kit has much more of the "tournament ready" style that Bretonnian knights tend to rock. So if you're already buying the Pegasus Knights from Fireforge, you might as well pick up some regular knights as well. They'll look much more visually cohesive, as well. The Perry Miniatures models are perfectly good. Their knights I would recommend for "lower order" knights, like Errant or Questing knights. That is, if you aren't using Historical ones from Fireforge. Perry Miniatures's foot knights, men-at-arms, and archers work very well for chaff.

A useful video. One caution, though: the excellent Perry miniatures are noticeably more slender than Fireforge and especially GW Bretonnians, so if variations in scale bother you, you may not be happy mixing in units and figures from different companies.

Great video topic! I have always been a fan of using many different miniature companies, as it creates more diversity (less mirror images) within an army. Missing in the video : a recommendation for where to find the appropriately sized bases, which are very important in this particular game.

I love me some Perry miniatures. Their WFB5 sculpts for Bretonnia are still my favorite. That said, their Agincourt knights are slightly too advanced for the classic Bretonnia aesthetic (then again, so are the TOW foot knights). If you're going for Fireforge Games knights on pegasus, I'd advise also going for their Albion knights on horse and their historical miniatures. Their historical knights (on horse and on foot) are technically slightly too primitive for Bretonnia in turn, but they'd be consistent with the Albion knights (on pegasus and on horse). As far as their peasants go, though, both lines fit quite well. For 3D printing, there's Monstrous Encounters, Celia Miniatures, Vae Victis, and Highlands Miniatures. Also, Lost Kingdom and (recently/upcoming) Lost Sword, but they have very different, much more filigrane styles to them.

I hear you on the aesthetic of the knights from Perry. The only concern I have for the fire forge ones is the scale. I have several Fire Forge Templar Knights in my own Bretonnian Army, and the scale is a little too small. Either way, still cheaper than GW!

I own a couple of old GW knights of the realm of 5th edition, and I bought Perry Knights, not those suggested in the video but medieval nonetheless and of the same scale. And, maybe is just me but I find there is too much difference in scale . Perry (and I suspect Fireforge too), are too tiny in my opinion.

There's not much difference between the Perry Miniatures and the GW miniatures from what I've seen. The only time I could see his being an issue if you play in a Licensed GW store, I know they won't allow players to bring in proxies. But for most local game stores, this shouldn't be a problem,.

Oathmark human infantry gives you a great unit of infantry for 25 pounds for 30 guys! Good bretonnian infantry proxies. They also mix and match with frostgrave soldier range, great way to add some variation to their already good range

Also for empire im building a proxy army from warlord fames landsknechs, basically the source for a lot of empire units
