I cherish all Bretonnian knights, but the Grail Knights are especially near and dear to my heart. They're a counter to the likes of Chaos Chosen, Vampires and other evil powers, a statement of human tenacity and the concept of a good man in a dark world not being a burden but a blessing. My favourite WFRP character became a Grail Knight after nearly 40 years of questing, despairing and soul-searching, and his journey will always mean a great deal to me. His ancestors form the basis of my current Bretonnian Old World army.

Ah I love that background for your bretonnians-such a cool idea and I love that you brought that across from roleplay. Amazing! Thanks for sharing that with me, really love that

You can forsake using the great weapon in combat to use a hand weapon and shield for more durability and initiative with questing knights if you wish. Also I love the crusade army that lets them carry a frenzy banner in a unit of 10, basically super cheap grail knights but less control, wind them up and let them go 😛

Screamer pink I believe.

Hey Andy, it would be great if you gave some use case scenarios for each of the knights. You covered some of it as you went through them. But how do you use knights errand? Are you extra careful with position so they don’t charge or do you use them as a sacrifice. What about questing knights. What are the perfect enemy to put them against. I know you’ve played tons of games now so maybe if you have time do a video that’s less about what they do and more what you do with them?
@bremer17017 ай бұрын
I used Knight Errants only as chaff unit. 2x 5 and just let them head out. Even if impetous struck they are still blocking movement of your opponent allowing your true knights to get into better positions.
@benfellsfive96647 ай бұрын
I use Knights Errant to keep my spare peasant minis company on my shelf. 19ppm is still too much compared to a KOTR for a model that hits less often (WS3 instead of WS4 means more enemies need 4+ to hit and maybe even 3+ to be hit back), no countercharge leaves them susceptible to being charged first by enemy cavalry, and impetuous is an infinitely bigger risk on cav that *can* in theory reach 17" than infantry. You have to double your efforts with skirmishers, screening, or sacrifices to the luck gods to not have them throw away hundreds of points. Questing Knights I use as brawlers. I take a big lance of em and charge into the thick of things. WS5, a weapon that keeps S+2 AP2, stubborn, and essentially veteran all keeps them around way longer than the more shock-cavalry role of other bret knights. Even without a shield (though S4 hand weapons is no slouch) WS5 and consistently high damage means less return attacks and more hits and damage themselves, keeping combat res high. I frequently find my QKs only losing by 1-2 or even tying/winning combat when I was expecting a rout from 2nd-3rd round combats. They're cheap enough but different enough that I treat them as a sidegrade to KOTR, whereas grailknights or even pegasus knights are kinda an upgrade. No countercharge for whatever reason, so I go for a longbomb charge (ideally rampaging banner or war banner to pump up combat res as high as possible). tldr brawlers.

Can Cavalry charge through small gaps between your own units?
@MediocreHobbies7 ай бұрын
If there is space
@free4all9167 ай бұрын
@@MediocreHobbies if you create a small gap with two anvil units which isn't big enough you could get an impetuous knight unit corned into not charging. Then wait for enemy to charge into any one of the units, lose combat give ground or fall back in good order so you could charge your knights the next turn. The two anvil units could be positioned in a way so the enemy would never be able to over run into the knights.
@MediocreHobbies7 ай бұрын
@@free4all916 yes indeed. That is an interring idea. The only concern is that would be three units working together on one task. We tend not to have units spare for that kind of thing.

in extrema ratio Questing Knight could fight with Hand Weapon and Shield (AC6 F4 Stubborn, they are not bad but hard to fit in a list)

Hi. Great video!. :D One question for everybody. It looks perfect on the table, but is it good to take knights in lance formation considering FAQ? Or is it batter to take them in line formation of 4 or 5? It seams to me that lance formation just become fluff choice. :/
@bremer1701Ай бұрын
For me, Lance Formation is a fluff choice unfortunately. Only advantage now is that you can get more Knights into direct contact. (7 instead of 4 in a 4 wide unit)

@bremer1701 not wholly true. Foot Knights have Furious Charge and can have different weapon load outs.

That is true of course. But this video ist about the fluff (or lore as it is called today) of the different types of Knights and Foot Knights are still Knights of the Realm. Thats why the unit is called Knights of the Realm on foot.
