Nice experiment,. That would be a good place to put some rust treatment around those wheel arches with the panels off

That’s good to hear! There’s better speakers out there, but these are good for the money and a massive improvement over the originals!

I have just done the same with the 3 way Pioneers. A massive improvement on the original ones. And managed to wire them in phase first time! Bloke keep the videos coming cause owners like me always after some improvement on these bugs!

lookjng at mine today regarding the noisey engine...i recon some padding on that panel that comes off under the wiper area would help...its a bigish tin panel i bet its reflecting the engine noise
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos3 жыл бұрын
Probably. I think putting padding in the back of all the big panels will help. There’s loads more places where I could have put it, but I just put it in the easy access areas and it has helped noticeably but the car is still a noisy rattly shitter.

Not sure what's available across the pond, But I have used what we call Duct liner, more of a butyl type product that has an aluminum layer that is lighter than the lead base that works very well. It's lighter for your (Racecar)! I gotta say I definitely enjoyed your video, you sound like Ryan Sampson (Grumio) from Plebs ! So I have liked and subscribed, and will share!!!
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos3 жыл бұрын
I think this is probably similar or the same stuff as you get over there, it’s lead free anyway if I remember right. Also thanks, much appreciated 😀

I think this brand is bitumen based, which isn't ideal and can stink when the car gets hot during the one day of summer we get. Maybe try a butyl version next time?
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure to be honest but seemed like some kind of soft metal when I put it on, it’s a cheap alternative to lead flashing. It’s ok though, I like the smell of hot tarmac 🤷♀️

Cheers lol! I just post videos as I get chance to make them. One week I could do a few then none for a couple of weeks, just depends on how busy I am at work and what the weather’s doing. Stuff like that, but I intend to keep them coming whenever possible.
@Lassitude10013 жыл бұрын
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I understand, especially the weather. Been raining every day this week here! I know you've done the e46 gear stick video, but I don't suppose you need to do one for your c1 do you? Mine is a twat to get into first and reverse, especially from cold. Pretty sure it's the same issue too. And by pretty sure I mean I haven't got a clue just a KZbin degree!

@@Lassitude1001in the C1, my knob’s a bit baggy but gets all the gears fine. Clutch needs adjusting though, so might make a video on that when I do it.

@@sally6457 yes but like any sensible job, you dont apply it where its not likely to make a difference, whichevert you call it, the idea was to make the car quieter but also not be pedantic, i guess your watching the wrong channel
@sally64573 жыл бұрын
@@jusb1066it was a bit of freindly advice, if it's flashband your using why not give it a go? Or is lifting the spare out of the boot the limit of your ability? Is removing a door card to pedantic for you? I bet you wear woolly gloves while wearing a t-shirt.

"detailing" 😂. I'm tempted to sound proof now, I need to 100% fix the boot leak first which is bloody persistent despite sealing lights etc.
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos3 жыл бұрын
Did you seal the bumper vents?
@simonjj73973 жыл бұрын
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos no I didn't, looks like I'm gonna have to do just that, thanks.
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos3 жыл бұрын
It’s the main place they seem to leak in my experience. In the video I point out where the water usually comes in if the vents are leaking. If you pour some water over the rear light it seems to run down onto the vents so seems to be from the light but actually comes in through the vents. At least the bumpers are really easy to remove though.
