Here is an idea to think about. When my grandfather built saw horses, instead putting the brace between the legs, he would put it it across the ends forming an”A” shape. He would then run a diagonal brace between the cross bar on the “A”, and the top of the sawhorse on each end. This allows you to work (stand) right up to the top edge of the horse, without have to reach out or lean over. This can be very handy especially if you are handling a heavier load.

Yes, that would be a great way to do it. Your grandfather's method sounds like a better idea!

Howdy Brother- gotta have some stout sawhorses for logs. I wish I knew how many I have built over the years. I usually set up four sets when working out the logs with my work/tool bench in the middle doing a full round at a time. I have to have all the help to keep me straightened out lol. You made some nice horses. Hope you are doing well. God bless

They are nothing fancy, but they seem to be working! I'm learning how important it is to protect my back and work smarter, not harder. Watching you work inlearn a lot of smart techniques.

So will your new cabin also be on the stream?

Haven't settled exactly on location, but that might be an option or a small brook.
