I wonder what Bun E said to upset the camera man? He closes with a super extended fill -- and the camera man pans to.... nothing!

Saw them live at their peak.....no weak links every member of the band worked his ass off..Restored my faith in rock n roll.Generated so much excitement it was breathtaking.

One of the best concerts I ever attended was New England, UFO and Cheap Trick at Springfield, Illinois in the early 80's. Never forget it. Got to the front row.

My mom bought this record when I was 3 (‘78)! I remember thinking this is the coolest thing I ever heard! Looking back on it…I think I always had pretty good taste in music!

I vividly remember when this album hit the racks at Peaches in Denver, Colorado. We played the heck out of it, blasting it for our customers, who danced in the aisles! This one just FLEW off the racks! People who had never heard of Cheap Trick became instant fans and followers, and snapped up all their albums! And, unbelievably, they are STILL GOING STRONG!

a band at the height of their powers. they're ALWAYS playing somewhere. my old boss worked with bun and thru him i got to see trick quite a few times in the 90's. they never faked it and always delivered...as they still do today.

All of those screeching Japanese teeny boppers are what stand out on this album, for me! I play guitar, and have been in a couple of bands, but, what I wouldn't give to have all of those screaming, screeching Japanese kids in an audience!

Such a great and underrated band. I remember this live album was played in Tower records store all through the summer in 1979 in San Francisco. Been a fan since 1977 when they opened for KISS at the Cow Palace in Daly City 👍

@@jac502 yes, in 1977 I saw them as an opening act, but in 1979 you saw them after they conquered Budokan in Japan, and became headline stars in the USA

Many bands are favorites like Sabbath or Zeppelin or Stones. All great. But the pillars for me are Beatles, Cheap Trick, Nirvana, Foo Fighters. Thats it. Strange list maybe but those are the best from each era. I think Cheap Trick has the toughest competition with Foreigner, Styx, Journey, Dire Straights, ACDC, Fleetwood Mac, Pat Benatar, the list goes on forever. We all love the 60's and 70's but the best era for rock will be known as the 80's give it some time.

Just a few years before this these guy's were playing at my dad's friends bowling alley on the weekends in Milwaukee. (Sunset Bowl) If I recall correctly they are from Rockford Illinois, which is just 90 min from Milwaukee.

A brilliant album and was my go-to live album UNTIL Deep Purple's Made in Japan was released the following year. Do like the Cheap Trick Live album too. Seems that Japan got the best performances out of some groups.
