Amazing that the original masters of the concert were lost for over thirty years. It is practically a miracle that we can see this in KZbin today. They were found in a vault in NYC in around 2007. I was hired to resotore and color correct the entire concert for the band's DVD set. I'm proud to be part of the concert's legacy. I grew up with this album, so it was doubly cool. Fun to realize that no one had seen this footage from 1978 until 2008. Seems it was there, but nope. It was gone. We're "all all right" now!!

Congrats man that sounds like a dream to do. And that is amazing, I get sad thinking about some concerts of bands that will never exist again, iconic performances, pictures, all the stuff I was privileged to be a part of, and it's just gone forever with zero trace but a memory

Happy birthday to my oldest son. You probably won't see this comment, but this was the lullaby I'd sing for you and your brother. I didn't know kid's lullabies, so you both fell asleep to daddy singing classic rock. I love you my sons, counting the days till I see you again.

There was a commercial back in the 90s where one girl was telling another girl about the perfect guy she just met. And she proceeds to list off his qualities, like "he's nice to his mother." And the final one was "and he knows all the words to the greatest song ever recorded." and the commercial fades off playing "I want you to want me."

It's also a segment on Australian quiz show " Spicks n Specks " i much prefer the lyrics I've been singing to The B-52s debut album for the last 41 years even though they are wrong. LOL!!!!!!!

I totally agree. I had the pleasure of seeing Cheap Trick quite a few years ago. I was about 21 or 22 years old. Saw rhem at a place called Selland Arena in Fresno, Ca. Don't remember the year(too much party)but they came with Eddie Money and Electric Light Orchestra. Was a killer concert. Was the only concert I ever got to go to with my wife who passed away at the age of 25 just a couple of years later, so this is a very precious memory for me. Now here I am 66 years old and I'm still listening to this. Good rock just never gets old or dies.

I remember me and my sister going to get this album at the mall and the newly opened Record Bar (another blast from the past) was sold out, so we made our older sister (we were way too young to drive then) and finally found it in a Woolco or K-Mart somewhere in North Tampa. One of the greatest American live bands and one of my favorites. Top 10 all time from the States. The songs were so good, and I don't mean just this one. Anyone who really loves this band knows this song is a ways down the list. Weird, I got here from a re-run of "American Pickers". Frank and Mike bought some gear from Rick Nielsen that he had in a storage unit. It was souvenir shirts and some clothes he wore on stage that Rick had in a storage locker for decades. I was in HS during the 70's but wasn't into Cheap Trick, though I had plenty of friends that were. After catching these performances on KZbin, I can see what everyone was talking about. They're a great band and the music would have been right up my alley in HS. The availability of "Budokan Live" is what makes KZbin so great.
