Backstory on this song..... before hitting it big, when they were an opening act for other bands, like most opening bands they weren't always given time to do a proper sound check, so they they opened with this song, bringing in one instrument at a time, allowing the sound man to adjust each one as it came in.

+Josh Martins I've said (written, rather) many times, Cheap Trick has to have been one of the most underappreciated bands ever. So unfortunate; bottom line, they were always incredible! (Their talent is obvious - most notably to me, Rick Nielsens guitar abilities: wow! Not to minimize the others, of course, as they all really were ground-breaking; their individual styles, for example, and the fusing of the then 'lame' world of commercialised music with the precursors of punk and new wave... I could go on and on.) Even back in the late 70's as a kid I was bewildered at why hardly any of the other high-schoolers were getting in to them as I did. Its good to see they're still performing though, although its too bad they weren't more sucessful back here in North America as they were overseas.

I saw them open for Kiss in 1977 on the Love Gun tour. At first I thought they were going to be thrown off stage. Then they won us over in dramatic fashion. A year later at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix during the Live At Budokan tour. Then a year after that, in a much larger arena, for Heaven Tonight. I've seen them three times since but 77-79 were the glory days, as they say.

last time I will post on your page I think I mean you were from Milwaukee and Rockford too I think. Here we go- I got some orchids, two plants in the hospital when I got out (Again). I wanted to give my counselor at the time a big, hug but we just shook hands, he was a flyer too, a sort of floater if you will. When I do laundry every week by our machine, the lady down the hall didn't speak English very well. She was still very nice. On Mother's Day she gave me a rose. I consider her my friend too. She lives down the hall. I too tried to give her a plastic orange mum to say thank you but only laid it by her door as a boy dropped off water there. I just should have knocked on the door. I feel bad as I dont see her or the fsamily across the hall. I don't like anyone being prejudice either, as one time long ago I was too and now like the birds I had to let it go. one of my daughter's has a beautiful soul , has many flights, she takesand if I could choose someone well yes I saw him too. He is very beautiful too! But alas it is up to them to make the decision. Love you friend, thank you too as we all have a Rose, a Moon and a Staras a friend. Peace Love Kindness is a start! Davis Jen It was on a TV show in the 70s. TV hosts were really toned down back then. You should watch the Mike Wallace interview and show with KISS from the 70s. He is really mellow compared to them.
@PraiseDog10 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are correct, speaking manners were different. More notable to me was that back then interviewers did not speak in a manner similar to how one would speak to small children in the past as is the case on what we call "national news" today. Actually that is not fair, children shows of the past were much more sophisticated than modern national news broadcasts are. But to the point, even at that time, DK was unusually low key, and his son seemed zombie like. Nothing wrong, but I remember my perception from that time.
@555_Lady_JB10 жыл бұрын
I wish it was like that again. I really like the lack of enthusiasm, wonder what DK son does these days. Thanks for cool posts.
