I would say I’m a pretty good player I play d1 high school soccer and my team was top 15 in state. My club got 4th in state and I would like to say I play a key role in the team. The point wasn’t to brag at all bc there are thousands of better players than me. I’m just saying that I have tried academy pro and elite versions of many cleats. I would say the elites are 10x better than the pros and the academy aren’t even worth buying. The elites definitely made me play better and I felt so much more comfortable and lighter and my touch felt better. I would say overall skill makes a player but playing with better tools give you an advantage. That could be confidence or actual skill.

Indeed, as a medium/wide foot player, this has become my speed boot; I got chonky feet and with that I honestly can’t say I have any issues with lockdown or responsiveness either, it’s plenty tight, even before tying my laces; honestly could probably get away with running them laceless cause it hugs my foot so well, though i probably won’t ever do that

@@rRaeyon because academy shoes are pretty low quality for the most part, the pro models is were you get the most bank for your buck; it depends on the model though. I always go for elite models since I play a lot of football(ever since I was a kid). The elite boots last somewhere around a year and a half. The pros have basically the same durability. So if you're short on money either go for a pro model. Or better yet go for an elite model but for an old generation shoe. You can also save money if you're not picky with the colors

i would of gone phantom gt pro-ag myself. They are very similar and it's personal preference but i found the GTs just more flexible and less rigid. But i have a wider foot and visions always felt narrow and aching no how many times i wore them

Im from chile and I can agree. Playing barefoot on dirt roads is what develops talent and creativity which is why south americans have such a flair. Just for a tip, if your feet aren't skinny(basically if you can't wear a pair of mercurials without strangling your feet) always go .5 to 1 size bigger. Some shoes are true to size and some are not, look up reviews for the shoe you'd like. For example, mercurials and predators are true to size, but they're also skinny/tight shoes. Phantom GT and adidas X can be used comfortably at your size but you have to break into them first

Just get mercurials instead if you have a narrow foot; if the traction is too aggressive for you with that shoe, get the ag stud pattern; it will still play well on a good field The touch between this and the mercurial will be nearly the same for most people

Bruh GT Pros are better than elites if you play a lot in artificial ground the only difference is that the pro ones doesn’t have the acc

I would actually disagree with that. The Pros are definitely nice for the money but because of the less stretchy and elasticated Flyknit used (it’s a different knit, the non stretch nylon liner on the upper which might be softer but lacks support and stability and the outsole being way less reaponsive, it’s nowhere close to feeling as good and comfortable and sleek as the Elite. They might feel OK and similar in hand but on feet when you actually plait it’s a different world. Oh, and the Pro is actually a bit wider too. So no, I don’t think you can say Pro is better than Elite to be honest. /Jay
