If you have to run cactus rears on black carpet you’ll basically always be fighting for steering as they are super grippy. So either change the rear tires for Mezzos/Nessis/Fuzzbites. Or lift the roll center at the rear up!!! Then go to longer camber links at the rear if necessary and play with laying down or standing up shocks. Then start adjusting the front. If your front tyres are wearing a lot faster than the rears, your car still wants to push and your setup balance is off. (Too much rear grip vs front) Before sticking a lot of weights in the front end of the car, try a softer spring first. And go from there.

You know, I started RC Cars with a WLToys 14401 Buggy, then an Arrma Granite and even an expensive 1:10 Touring Car for racing. In hindsight, I had the most fun with the $90 WLToys 14401 car. I could run on- and offroad with it and the spares are dirtcheap.

The fun starts when you get a big 1/5th scale basher. I had fun with my WLToys, HJX & Rlaarlo. But 1/5 scale bashers is where it's at. They can take on anything you throw at them.

@FarmerFpv Жыл бұрын
When you drive the two it is a big difference. The ease of driving becomes apparent. I always thought that the cheaper ones could compete. They can but you struggle more for no reason. Spending the extra money is 100% worth it if you are racing. The cheaper one eventually falls apart and it's harder to get parts for if you even can.

My first hobby level RC was Nitro. I just loved the sound of that engine and the smoke. It let people know I wasn't playing with some "toy" I got at WalMart. Also loved knowing that when it ran out of fuel, it was just a matter of putting more in and I was good for another 20-30 minutes. My next RC was electric, 4S capable....I popped the tires doing donuts. Then I went all in and got a 1/5 Scale Gasoline RC....was a crappy HPI knockoff....jumped a tiny ramp and broke the shocks. I mean, Kevin jumps massive skateboard ramps and lands RCs just fine....nope....I jump something that that gets it maybe a couple feet off the ground and things break. Friend of mine has an expensive DJI drone he wants me to try out....if he knew my history with RC vehicles, he would change his mind LOL

great job Kevin, something you can also do is glue the sidewalls on the fronts, only like a small bead, should take away any grip rolling if you have that and initial steering. But it looks like you got a potential winner there. Smooth and Slow is Fast! Keep it on all 4s!

I have both a losi 2.0 nitro race buggy that was fully built for racing with top dollar components, bought it from a friend that needed money at the time got a great deal and also have a pretty old ofna ultra buggy also nitro with the legendary. 28 engine absolutely a torque monster, the ofna despite its weight has been so reliable and dependable that it's still my favorite buggy ever, the losi is actually going to be sold pretty soon as I don't really drive it much at all. And when it comes to being competitive on the track it's mostly about the driver, I've raced my nitro associated mini mgt ( monster truck) in truggy open classes and it's made a top 3 every time, always nice to hurt feelings at the track...😎

If you compare, i think a plastic body is better for these. Although saving weight isn't probably gonna do much, it's still a difference and it's cheaper. If it crashes it bends, and doesn't stay curved. You have explained it multiple times kev.

Interesting comparison, I started racing on a Team Losi Racing 22T 4.0 which i tried to build it myself going by what the book said but it didn't work out well and it was very difficult to drive so i traded it away. And bought myself a prebuilt Team Associated B74.1 from my dad which was built by him and ran great and was a 13.5T spec 4wd racer but we don't run it to often since he been busy with Nursing school. I'm currently not doing 1\10 scale racing i'm more of a basher myself and i plan to buy more bashers than racers. But great comparison anyways Kev.
