If your worried about shock boots you can make your own from balloons. Grab a pack of the long balloon's and stretch it over the spring then trim off the ridge end and cut off the sealed end leaving a few mm to tuck inside the spring at top an bottom , put the spring back on the shock an job done. No more moisture and dirt to contaminate the shock oil.

In atvs and bikes it also helps keep from getting the piston rod dented by rocks and crap, love me some shock covers.

Can also remove the connector on the end of the rod, slide the boot on, then screw the connector back on. Little more time consuming than the balloon trick, but works great if you want the slightly more durable boots. Either way works, so it's really more of the builder's preference.

A word of advice from someone with 20+years of nitro experience .patience is a must .pretty simple to get going get the car get batterys in receiver and controller get your glow starter charged fill your fuel tank with the correct nitro fuel .put glow starter in the top of the engine head pump fuel through to engine .and pull pull start after a few pulls the engine should fire up .tuning the engine if it needs tuning can be tricky though .good luck 👍

Gona have to try nitro again, the last time I played with nitro engines was in mid 2000’s….. and like you say, they were fiddly, hard to tune, and if you didn’t run the engine often it would corrode and gunk up from the fuel…. Absolute pain in the arse, but still very fun. Also I was using crystal remote controls which weren’t the most reliable back then just to make it even more exciting

This so much, cheap nitro engines are likely one of the reason so many people dislike them and think they are a pain. Recently bought an XRAY NT18 with a 0.8ccm engine thats made in Japan and holy moly that thing was easy to tune. Even with piss poor settings it would at least still run and not suddenly stop out of nowhere as I experienced with Force Engines.
