CHEAP WISH POLYGEL REVIEW | EPIC FAIL🤦‍♀️

Hi everyone
Today we’re going to be doing some nails, would you believe it, and we’re reviewing some £5 polygel from Wish.
In today's video we are going to be testing some cheap Polygel from wish and ill be working on my fake hand cause I am not putting this stuff on my nails but hey I could be wrong… I’m wishful.
Firstly I’m going to shape my dolly hands nails I’m just trying to get them to look like a set of natural nails so ill take down the length and using my navy tools nippers and give them a file using a 180 grit file
So we have some dual nails forms that have come with this little kit and we also have some Mad Doll Polygel in a natural milky colour some slip solution and we do not get a brush but we do get a cuticle pusher, so it looks like that’s what we are using to apply the Polygel 🤷‍♀️ then we have a mini lamp SUNmini
So I’ll size up my dual forms and squeeze some of the Polygel directly into my dual form and dip my cuticle pusher into the slip solution and try and speed this across the dual form then I’ll make contact at the cuticle and sweep my Cuticle pusher on the underside of the dual form to smooth out the product, ok lets pop this little lamp over the nail and give it a cure and do the rest of them.
The second nail is already lifting and totally came off, so with the next one, I’m going to hold it in place for the first 30 seconds of curing. A whole section of this nail wasn’t cured which isn’t good. The last nail popped off and was cured.
I’m gonna file them though, I’m gonna give them a chance. IT'S AN EPIC FAIL! This test is well and truly done🙄

Hello Kirsty and Adam. Just a little FYI, there's another KZbinr her channel is called Emily Susanah and she sometimes prefers to use the cuticle pusher when using polygel rather than a brush. She loves super long nails and she finds it just works better and faster.

I've never tried they're actual gels or acrylics but they ate where I get stickers, foils, stripes, stencils and some stamper plates. Gotta say how humorous it was watching you twist your poor "clients" fingers around and upside-down, LMBO

I love the makartt polygel kits from Amazon. The dual forms that come in those kits are a bit too curved for my liking, but the polygel itself is great.

Makartt has started putting the flatter dual forms in their kits along with the curved ones! You might wanna check the ones you have, cuz sometimes they're both in the same box🤗

I think: 1. The silicone Red Iguana hands recommend that double-sided sticky tape (nano tape?) to hold the tip onto the practice hand, so that might be helpful if you use those kinds of hands a lot. 2. Sticking polygel to plastic tips might not stick and may need a base coat for adherence 3. White polygels are notorious for not curing well, just like white gel polishes... most inexpensive brands I've seen recommend thin coats and/or LED light curing on both sides of the extension when possible. None of this protects anyone from not knowing what's in those tubes and bottles. Buyer beware for sure.

What nobody knows is Amazon has exact same sellers as Wish, Alibaba and Aliexpress. What nobody knows is amazon prices are exactly the same prices as The other shopoing sites if you actually paid for faster shipping. In the end, if you paid for a different shipping method, it'll all be essential the same thing as Amazon.

First let me say I freaking love your videos. I love watching in the hope I can be as awesome as you ( not likely haha ) Since the pandemic I have only bought my poly, acrylic, dip powders, polishes, e-file, lamp, tips, forms, tools and everything else needed, from wish. I have been on and off doing my own nails for 20 odd years but for the most part I've had them done at a salon. During the pandemic I received news that I had cancer so with funds tight. I was doing my nails now haha. I have 5 sons so my nails are my girly treat. I would definitely buy better product if I could but with my budget, wish was all I could afford. Now I check the ratings and make sure there are pictures that people have received what is for sale. Waited forever for it to arrive in Australia but as soon as it did, I did my first set. I fell in love. Now I have been doing them over a year and I am still happy. Saved lots of money on not going to the salon and I learning as I go. Your videos are so helpful. You're amazing at what you do and I wish I had the talent you have in just your finger tips.

Actually, Adam, using a spatula or cuticle pusher can make smoothing “polygel” products easier than using a brush. You should try it!

I just got into hybrid gel (polygelis actually the name brand of Gelish brand which I just found out) but I had bought the slip to go with it and it didn’t work that well but I just used isopropyl alcohol 91% and that works quite well.

I like the Rosalind polygel you can get on AliExpress or Amazon, they are cheap and not too sticky, easy to work with tips, forms, or dual forms.. I’d love to see you try that brand

The polygel she tested is very good tho 😅 she didnt apply any base coat and didnt use a brush. Had she done these things and used acetone or alcohol as liquid then the nails wouldve been perfectly fine. I only use nail products from wish and ive never had a problem 😊 they stay on for 3+ weeks with no lifting and filing is very easy, theyre strong and colors are vibrant, no bubbles etc. i love nail products from wish and theyre sometimes better than some of the expensive stuff 🥶

​@@Emily160798 white is notoriously difficult to cure, I'd double cure so hit from top and bottom. They need a different pressure to get them to hold one, usually get clear clips to ensure the 2 surfaces meet. Way to much product used. Surface of nails should have had a light buff to remove the shine.

I think the only problem was the lack of a base coat and brush. If they had actually included those things the kit would have been passable as an at home nail kit.

‘Natural’ nail wasnt roughed up - it was shiny and there was no base coat . If it’s going to pop off the form, it’ll pop off the nail without a base coat.. whites, even more expensive are notoriously bad to cure. I’ve used this and none moved in 3 weeks… but with a base coat..

This video cracked me up! I mean I ‘ am a tech and a Kirsty STAN but they didn’t give thAt polygel a chance. It was a funny episode should I say but It’s getting a little high end… I have no problem with that I just maybe would have thought she could have been funny and pulled out a urban graffiti base maybe lol when it didn’t have one and made a joke about not liking to mix brads but in this instance she will make an exception…. Idk instead of trying to make it look like your just taking it all. Because where the rule for acrylic core products stands it’s there for gel but not as strict. A lot of stuff bought from China is the exact same as the expensive stuff you get in the U.S. (I imagine it's the same in the UK) without the horrible markup. They have to call it something different as far as name brand goes but I have purchased so many great nail products from AliExpress which is the Amazon of China. I believe a whole lot of stuff at Wish is also from China.

I agree I've purchased some great nail and nail art products, I buy all my mylar and abalone shell as I use them in jewellery making too. I'm amused that many people think they are using a superior product because it says made in the US or UK when a lot is made in China and packaged in the west. High end trainers/sneakers are an example, we all know they are made in Indonesia for a fraction of the sale price here yet nobody has stopped buying them. Electronics are the same.

I use that exact same lamp for gel polish. Works perfectly fine. You need to hold the button in for a few ssconds for the 1 minute timer.

Venalisa is definitely good and cheap when it comes to gel polish. I don't know how about now, but I've noticed the more popular they get, the worst the product is... Their latest polygels are not good and their builder gels as well.

I use wish poly gel. The stuff I get is really good. It stays on and is super strong. I have tried crap from wish... it was hit or miss when I bought nail product on wish. I stick to the stuff I like and stay away from everything else. I only use Mobray poly fast building gel and URSUGAR soak off UV and LED gel polish.

I've seen these type of gels done by a friend (dunno from where they were bought) and she adamantly told me never to ever put the slip solution on the nail nor the gel itself until the last step. She used the steps *nailprep *choose form *squeeze gel out to the back end of the form (the end that goes onto the nail) enough to cover nail and maybe some more *Put the form on the nail starting with the base at the cuticle and then slowly lover the entire form down so that you are pressing the gel forwards and with the form *use the slip solution to move the gel on the exposed tip (flip hand over) to desired lenght *cure *file Worked for her but she said her first couple of sets where a disaster until she got the hang of it. I do agree that no product should be used without actually being able to look at the list of what is in it. Could be anything as you said but this vid was really interesting and fun!

I have been using IBD control gel, I swear by it. It applies really good and it files like acrylic. I only use polygel as I’m rubbish at acrylic application (well I am 65 lol) . The polygel doesn’t have a load of colours but I use either clear and natural. I hope you do a review on this product to see what you think

the Sun mini lamp is a great starter light I have one I got mine from amazon for a tenner though. I haven't bought from wish kinda worried things would not be good quality. quite bad that the poly gel doesn't have ingredients on it though, agree the forms that came with it are a bit weird looking :0) x

Yep, I have a SunUV lamp from Amazon that was about $10 and it's awesome. 48 watts with a time display and multiple timer options or just stick your hand in and it comes on. It's perfect for me as I only do my own nails at home.

I bought a tub off Aliexpress called Mshare you have to still use primer base, top coat and everything was seperate but its cheap and well worth it. I got polygel and builder gel tubs by mshare and ill keep using it. Lol

I bought the wish polyglot and I applied a base coat then a top coat and then used the polygel. It worked well I also cured it and after taking the form off I flipped my hand over and cured the under neath.

I ordered an astound poly gel kit with the same lamp and YES IT ONLY WORKS WITH IT PLUGED IN!!..but it did work but the polys are really stiff.. they actually have a KZbin channel too!!

I use femme fatale nail puttie ...which is in uk...I love it and it last on my really long nails ...they have a 50% off sale and I stock up ...I have tried naio poly gel and it just lifts on me after a few days ..really cheap polly gel I used of Ali express was yoyage , it was very easy to apply and it never moved with no lift after two months . You just have to wait 2weeks for it to arrive ..one of my clients can only keep madam glam polygel on yet it’s no good on me ..some polygel are harder once cured so I find one polygel does not suit all

Where was this video like 2 year ago when I bought a full set on ebay for like 25 quid... It did come with base and top coat as well as a double sided brush and spatula and a big tub of dual forms... Took me about 3 attempts to give up on it.. Just to find actual sticker forms are much easier! Just need better gel and a brush! P.s you can buy clips to hold the dual forms in place 👌🏻

Wish seems to have a bad reputation, having said that, I don't think you gave this a fair shot. There was no nail bed to adhere to, I believe you made up your mind before you used it, that's an opinion, I've been a nail tech for a very long time. I bought polygel from Amazon and it was great, sometimes the sets aren't exactly complete so you have to use your knowledge to compensate, no offense meant at al.

I love the tattoo on your manikin hand. Hahaha 😝looks like she needs some lotion too! My favorite is Kiaria Sky all her products are great quality and i just love the brushes in the bottles! They are rounded and soft to get a really nice coat of the polish! Try her out! 😀

I'm surprised they didn't send you a clear clip to hold on the nail mold while it's under the lamp... they're curved on the bottom for your finger and holds the form on great... but you have to remember to check under the nail before curing or you have the big clump on the back of the nail & it's super fat

Hi kirsty you should really try some polygel kits from. Amazon vor 20 or 30. They are really good and come with everything. Some even come with glitters and bling.

I ordered some of the cheap stuff from Wish a couple of years ago. Mine did come with a brush, so you clearly got ripped off. However, the product was awful! I would never use it on a human hand either!!! Instead, I have found that it is perfect for small repairs on the vintage double-decker party bus that I drive sometimes. You know, for when there’s a loose screw that’s stripped out or something. The poly gel caps and cures perfectly on things of that sort!

I got my nails done at a cheap salon once because my tech was on vacation…. Boy did I have regrets! My fingers burned and then blistered before I could get it off. When my tech came back she said those places were using industrial acrylics. It was over 15 years ago, but lesson learned!

Yes the half empty issue is one I come across PLENTY especially in cheaper brands. I hate when I open them and they are only half full.

It’s hard to tell from a video but the tube looks more like a 30gram tube. I got modelones set from amazon with 15g tubes and they look much smaller.

You should check out some of the more popular Russian brands, like Cosmoprofi, Opzia, Staleks... A lot of them are amazing, and while nowhere as cheap as Wish, they are moderately more affordable, partially due to exchange rates.

Did you put prep, primer and base coat on first?

On a artificial nail primer and dehydrator are not necessary since dehydrator and primer is to remove oil and balance the PH of a human natural nail also not all poly gel require a base coat and with these cheap wish ones base coat etc won't matter as they're garbage products made cheap as and then sold cheap

Can you please check out the Venalisa jelly builder gel from AliExpress, I got some just to practice with and asked for the msds certificates but they never gave me the proper ones! It has a weird plastic smell & the ingredients are strange - used in plastics! It’s very popular on AliExpress and is pretty cheap but would love to know if it’s ingredients are dangerous or not! I’m gonna use it in crafts instead of nails 🤣

Those saying she should have used a base coat or brush. It wouldn’t have been a true representation of the product that a beginner may have bought. An accurate review of a product out of the packet is what you got here. Personally I wouldn’t put a product with no ingredient list on it anywhere near my skin. That hand dolly is amazing though 🤩

Completely agree with you. You want to do a true video using exactly what comes in the kitchen. Adding anything that isn't in there is a false test.

Absolutely. She's using it like she's said multiple times she would - only the products in that line together. Plus, I know I've heard Sarah Burchett talk about how in England, nail techs are required to use only one product line on their clients or it invalidates their insurance. Like, they're not allowed to use a monomer from one brand then an acrylic from another brand together (if that makes sense).

I would have liked to see you give the product a fair chance by buying a full set incl the brush, primer and base. I've used Elite99 and Venalisa and not have had any problems when using the proper items together.
