Just having the ability to call CQ through the memories is a big plus for saving your voice and fist.

I bought a kit version from AliExpress. The kit came with one bad resistor, which required me to do some troubleshooting and replace the corrupted resistor with a good one. It works now. Besides, the resistors they ship have muted/faded color bands that are hard to read even in bright white light on my bench.

Interesting about the fading. Thanks for the feedback!

I built my own. Only used the 5 buttons for memories. It works well. You have a nice video. Thanx. Jim K1AZ

Thanks for watching. I built a button into my Yaesu (there are better ways to do it) so my dog could call CQ - kzbin.info/www/bejne/enqvZ4GZn61qo7M. . in the future, I'll get an "easy button" from staples for him.

That's good it works! I love my FH2, and don't regret buying it. But it is way to expensive for what it is. Great video, 73!

Great video! I just ordered one! It would have cost more money if I ordered parts and made my own

I agree. It's inexpensive and parting it out, sourcing individual resistors, etc would be cumbersome. The price is definitely right.

I am amazed how expensive the FH-2 is in the US, works out around $40 in the UK. That looks like a good unit in its own right, I don't think my own soldering would look any better than some of the joints on that!

Yes, in DL it's abt 35 EUR.

You don’t need to keep the microphone keyed whilst recording. Just key it once then start talking, it keeps the mic keyed until you hit the ‘MEM’ button again.

the cable, what do I need? A 3.5mm TRS on both ends? Or a TRRS? I couldn't tell from the video.

Good question. I just sent this away, recently. But off hand, I believe it's the same as this one - ae01.alicdn.com/kf/S8f53ccebe60241fdbaa02ed0f33377976/Yaesu-FH-2-FTDX-9000-FTDX-5000-950-ft-450-ft.jpg_.webp (Hopefully that linked correctly.) Cheers!

You implemented the 4 switches + resistors between mic connector pins 3 & 6 per page 18-3 in the 7300 manual?

@@Randrew yes, and made a jack connector for the mic, now I can use my headset. I works great.

Great device- but a tuner also uses that same port on the back of the 891, so you would have to give the option of using your tuner.
@michaelbesemer1765 Жыл бұрын
No... get a Y-Cable. The tuner uses the 'Ring' of the stereo jack and the FH2 uses 'Tip".

Try adding a right-curly brace "}" at the end of your manually entered CW text message. I believe it signals the end of the message (see advanced manual p18, item #8). Of course, the memories can be loaded and played back via CAT control too :) de W8RD
