It will definitely need a tune, it's a day and night difference. I have done both, the stant and tune.

Ive done it on my last charger and yea I agree that it makes a big difference but you dont “need” a tune to get some benefit from it

Yea the temps been consistent in the mid 180’s on the highway and i havent seen anything higher than 205 in traffic

Nope, except it does throw a check engine light in the winter time in the colder weather.

So i have a 2012 challenger rt 5.7 hemi and i live in las vegas i installed a 180 thermastat and drove around for like a month no issues now i have a check engine light on and its code p0128 anyone got any ideas why all i can think of its a cheap thermastat i ordered off line so i went to autozone and got one of there 180 thermastates by duralast so homefully no issues after i instal this one

Depending on the outside temps you will get a check engine light unless you have a tune on your car and get the tuner to read out the code. Anytime the temps were below 60 degrees outside, after starting and driving the car once it sat overnight or quite a while I always got a CEL due to the engine ECU thinking theres an issue as the car isnt getting up to operating temps in the programmed timeframe and etc. without getting too technical. So yea on cooler days a 180 degree thermostat will throw a CEL but you can easily clear it with a hand held OBDII reader.
