I know what it's like to try to squeeze washes in on the rare winter days above freezing. What I did was bought a cheapo 50 foot hose from Walmart for 8 bucks and a 150 foot extension cord reel. For 5,99$ Eager One is definitely water down iron remover. in fact u can see its very watery and runny where Iron-ex is a gel that cling to the paint. I am sure both will get the job done, but iron-ex is stronger and can get the job done faster. other detailer are using Meguiar all wheel cleaner for iron remove. It cling to paint and is very potent. It is twice as expensive as eager one at $10 but it is very potent and can get the job done twice as fast.

I agree that iron movers made for wheels should be more clingy and gel like consistency but Iron removers for paint shouldn't have a thick consistency. Eagle one smells worse than iron x. My preferred steps: pre treat panel with APC (ALL PURPOSE CLEANER)--dont do this in direct sunlight, and if so rinse quickly. Then a contact wash, I prefer a rinseless wash but soap is fine. With residue from soap or your rinseless wash still on panel, spray with iron x, let dwell for about a minute. Then start using iron x or iron remover of choice as your clay "lube." Rinse then apply your sealant or wax. Thank me later:)

Do we even need an iron remover if we clay? Wish you would have added another test to clay one panel first, then apply an iron remover and compare it to another panel that only has an iron remover applied (without claying beforehand). I wonder if the iron remover is a waste of time and money if we going to clay.

I read it cuts down clay time
@FABAutomotiveDetailing5 жыл бұрын
John Yes you need the Iron Remover then clay. Iron remover removes the embedded contaminants. Clay can only remove the contaminants stuck on top of the paint.

+John out of direct sunlight, i like to let iron x dwell on panel. Wait til you see a significant amount of purple streaking. Then, before it dries on paint, use that same product (iron x or whatever) ad your clay lube. Clay removes some of what the iron x won’t - together, it’s an unstoppable combo💪

I’ve got to say, that’s an unbelievably slow reaction. I use Bilt Hamber on my cars and it goes purple within seconds,,,,, this stuff is so delayed.

Lol yes indeed. The eagle one product has its place...with time I can say it is stinkier than I would like and probably doesn't "cut" the iron as well as some of the bigger name brands. But, it does the job and can be purchased at your local store so very solid indeed

@@HawkProDetailing Please do our skin is an organ and will absorb chemicals eventually affecting our body systems... That Eagle one is smelly and powerful... Cancer and respiratory complications can arise and so much more... We really tend to forget these are harsh chemicals... Being exposed to them daily or dealing with them occasionally will show its effect years from now... And all these sweet smelling waxes and sprays can't be any better... Just take some precautionary measures so you can continue to provide us with great content... Im a wood worker and know many guys who have respiratory issues simply for being neglectful to put a mask on 10yrs down the road things can be very different

+justin turner pretty well, but I haven’t found anything that is “touchless” for wheels that works *most* of the time. Which is to say...some agitation required most of the time on wheels no matter what you use on them...

@@HawkProDetailing Your father inlaw doesn't care about being on the payroll the only thing he wants you to do. is be a good father and take care of his daughter you do that and you'll be OK in his book. Hell you'll be OK in any father's a book just aslong as you take care of your responsibility.

With the benefit of time...I will say I do prefer the iron x or meguiars chemical decon slightly. For instance, this stuff really flashes in the sun (they all do though) but I notice it foams less when you want to use it for a clay lube. It is still a great budget alternative that lots of pros I know use daily
