I bought 4 of these for our golf cart. Paid $520 + tax, total was $556.38 on eBay. I charged them using a Vevor 35 amp smart charger. One didn't come up to full capacity properly, so I discharged it a bit using a battery load tester. It charged fine after that. After charging them I let them sit idle for a few days, then connected them all in parallel and charged them again as a group and let them sit idle for a few more days to equalize. Then I installed them in the golf cart, connected in series, to make a 48-volt bank. I installed a 500 amp shunt with battery monitor. So far it's working fine, but I haven't driven far since the weather has been chilly here. I'm quite happy to have converted the golf cart to LiPO4 so affordably. The golf cart conversion kits using a premade 48-volt pack cost $1000 more than using individual 12-volt batteries. These fit perfectly where the previous 8-volt lead-acid batteries had been, so installation was simple.

Nice tear down and testing, I wish you had some better luck getting the temperature safety cutoffs to work. Do you think in the future after the teardown on these videos you could throw the whole battery into a chest freezer or something with the temp probe hanging out? and then get a second temperature probe on a multimeter or something to record the temperature of the air close to the bms temperature probe so we know at approximately what temperature the safety engaged at? High temp cutoff testing would be cool too, I guess a hot plate and a beaker of water + second temp probe is the way to go.

I bought the same battery a couple of months ago from TEMU. When I got it of the box I could hear something was loose inside the battery. Almost sounded like a bolt or something like that. I emailed the battery company but never heard a word from them. I did send it back and got a refund although I didn't think it was safe to be moving it around because it had a full charge and I thought I might would short out and start a fire. I will not purchase another one from them since the company never answered my email.

You should also test out the tracker 100 ah ain't sure they are really lifepo4 or something else. But it seems they are really expensive and are a well you know. I was hoping to just go to bass pro shop without having to get it on line. Guess somebody will test them.
@jandst.66343 күн бұрын
Good test and showing the build. I like the metal compression. Question, I have tested a couple of very expensive Lifep04 100 and 200 ah batteries. Friend and I found a couple of batteries that would cycle at the end of charge because a cell pack was not at capacity so the BMS would cycle end charge because the BMS detected Over Voltage Protect. Have you observed that since you are doing a full charge with a voltage that I presume is over 14.0 v. Have found good batteries might cycle a couple of times then no more charge acceptance, Jim.
@Mikebuildss2 күн бұрын
I normally see about 14.4 fully charged, Generally as long as the cells are matched good the pack should stay balanced.
@jandst.66342 күн бұрын
@@Mikebuildss Thanks for the reply. What I was talking about is when the battery is approaching 100% and a cell is a bit less in capacity it will cause the BMS to do the OVP. In your testing I presume you have not observed this anomaly. It will cycle the charge current on and off at a rate of usually under 30 seconds. Jim.
