I relocated my charcoal canister while installing the turbo on my NA8. I initially just removed it the same as you have done, however I could smell raw fuel in the engine bay sometimes, which was a bit off putting. The intercooler piping route required the removal of my washer bottle, which was in the left side of the front bumper. I ended up fitting the charcoal canister with the intercooler piping in place of the factory washer bottle. I replaced the charcoal in the canister with fresh pellets used for aquariums and piped the fuel vapors through the fitting at the base of the canister. There is a little pod filter at the top of the canister to allow the fuel tank to vent. An aftermarket washer bottle was fitted where the canister had been and I wired in an aftermarket inline pump to wash the windscreen.

Ah that’s a good way of keeping the charcoal canister, I think mine was blocked or something was wrong with it as when it was I had a slight fuel smell which strangely has gone less since removing the canister. But if the smell comes back I might relocate it

It's just vapour, and you could smell it because the pipe literally vents in the wheel well, it's completely safe but a bit annoying. I "deleted" it on my NBFL because it looked ugly and i genuenly don't care about the smell, when i park my car i unscrew my fuel cap and release the pressure like that and it doesn't smell as bad

Don't see the point of this. It sits there and when you remove it to willfully spew gasoline fumes into the air? Wtf

Mot fail?

It shouldn't fail for emissions as they only check for tailpipe emissions

Please don't do this on a street driven car in an emissions controlled area unless you want to be committing a crime. I hope the next video shows relocating the canister to another area on the car. I am sure you can relocate it under the car or hide it in the wing, and likely the valve could tuck behind the fusebox out of sight as well.

crime is not the case here, when you don't have EVAP, under temperature gas expands and shrinks, just like any liquid, what happens when pressure is too high or too low and fuel system is sealed? have you ever seen videos of cars spitting fuel thru fill hole? yeah, that's what happens, it can also happen when you overfill car and EVAP is drowned

You do realize that these charcoal canisters stop working after about 10 years tops? NAs are 30 years old now, the charcoal in these is not doing much, if anything at all by now :)

@@omgf0wtf it's actually good to know, maybe i should change mine EVAP since it's access is really easy

@@kotuu3 i have read somewhere that these charcoal canisters can be somehow reactivated but I’m not sure on the details
