I would not pay $10k for that setup. You could get a DSMC2 kit with a Dragon or Helium sensor for $5k or even a really nice kit with a Gemini sensor for $10k that is still supported by Red and has way better image and features then DSMC1.

You got my attention. After two years of doubt, I finally buy the bmcc 2.5k. To be honest, I shot on Sony a7iv, a7iii, a6400, nikon d850, canon 5d iii, 5div...but none of them give me feelings as the Blackmagic. This camera make realize that technology is moving very fast but is loosing something magic. Am thinking add the red one mx or if my money allow me, the dragon 6k.

Same as you, I get my RED Scarlet X one month ago and Im looking for tips and information about it because Im going to shoot my second feature in a couple of months and I choosed Scarlet x for tŵo reasons: 1-budget (this is the RED model that I can afford) and 2-for the same reason you mentioned in this video: the analog look. I love that mysterium x texture and thats what Im looking for my upcoming feature. Please, could you make an exposure turorial with this camera? That would be really helpful. Oh man, you spent way to much. I was also interestet in a Scarlet X and you can get ready to shoot packages between 3000 - 5000 eur. But very good and informative Video. Wish you always good light. greetings from germany

Hey! Congrats on the camera! However I am not sure you got a very good deal at all… where did you buy form? I think it’s cheaper to buy a kit instead of all individually. I just purchased a DSMC2 6k kit in new condition with only a few hundred hours. Came with the new 7” monitor, top and side handle, 480gb mini-mag and a lens + pelican case all for $6,600 usd. 🎥
