CHEAPEST RESTAURANT TO EAT in TORONTO! You won't BELIEVE it!

All I have to spend is 10 dollars. How much food can that get me at Gales Snack Bar. Cheapest restaurant and diner in Toronto.
Gales snack bar has been serving it's community for over 30 years. It's a small store front so if you blink you'll miss it. It has a old film style feel to the old rustic
venue which is actually fitting because it is placed right next two a few film studios that take up quite some space on Eastern Avenue. Gales makes you feel as if you've
entered into the twilight zone and into the 60's with it's cheap priced items and old clocks, trinkets and posters. The real antique of it all is it's old diner priced food
that cost merely bus fare. Or a few coins you food in an old pair of jeans in the dryer.
The restauarnt seems to price food at a cost that does not go up with inflation. The arest I've seen here in Toronto.

This place was on my bucket list and I finally went there with my husband one day. I wasn't only amazed by the price but I couldn't believe how good the Chicken Club Sandwich was.

It's cheap but the restaurant itself is extremely dirty. I sat in one of the booths one day and made the mistake of looking into the area at the back that's exposed when the seat moves away from the seat back. Ugh. There was years and years of crumbs in there. The smell was sickening. I couldn't eat my food when it arrived.

Love Gales! I had a roast turkey sandwich (nice roast breast meat, not cold cuts). I asked for white instead of dark meat and she didn’t even up charge! I also had apple pie and ice cream, pretty sure it came to about $1.75.

Funny, being from the USA when you said it was like the 80s and school lunch I immediately thought you were going to say it was garbage food. We used to have McDonalds day in school in the 70s and 80s 2 times a year and everyone looked forward to it because it was way better than the school food. I remember when taco pizza came out at our school and everyone got sick. Turned out it was old freezer-burned pizza that they didn't want to throw out so they smothered it in taco sauce. Good stuff... We didn't have any regulations or watchdog units back then. This food and the atmosphere brings back good memories from the 70s and if I'm ever there I'm going to stop in and grab a bite.
