Great video, I have a 04 model 2 years now. I saw A DIY repair for the PSE pump on KZbin. It's usually the impeller brakes into 3or4 pieces and the system will time out and pulling the fuse for a minute or so will reset the system once it's been repaired or replaced. Don't know about you but I've found a lot of repair demonstrations from SL roadster owners from around the planet a d they have been a great help!

Enjoying your channel. Summer of 2022 I brought a 2006 SL350. No real issues apart from water getting in somewhere and wetting rear carpet behind passenger seat. Looking forward to seeing you fix your water ingress problem.

please make a video showing the exhaust from front to back slowly and show/see if any mods have been done. the startup sounds amazing! i have a silver 2002 SL500 R230 (uk spec) and i am sure your work restoring this will be worth it

How about the idea of deep-sixing the entire air suspension system and converting it to springs and shocks with a Strutmaster kit? Apparently, the handling doesn't change much, plus you can shed a lot of dead weight from the vehicle with such a conversion.

Just bought a 2003 SL500 Myself with a bad dual PS pump. Replaced with ML55 AMG Power steering pump. Might have you beat on purchase price. Payed roughly 10% of its book value. Waiting on Ceika coilovers to arrive to complete the conversion.

I've just done this pump on mine, if the replacement is not the same number exactly, then the new unit needs to be coded to the vehicle. I had my old pump refurbished for a fraction of the price of replacement with a lifetime guarantee, that way no recoding necessary, if not recoded the pump can run permanently.

Mine is working fine. Not sure if the part numbers are exactly the same but no coding needed and the pump does not run permanently. Where did you get it refurbished?

You need to disconnect battery for a bit to reset pump.

Or look for corrosion due to water in the trunk
