That looks like a great set up, and those pipes look much better than those crazy sharp single rolls that have to be hand rolled. I know I would totally bend that kind out of shape immediately. Happy Tuesday! Cheers.

Another great video. Can't believe your dog fit in the tent too. Those are the second cheapest stove pipes. The cheapest ones can be made from Campbell's Chunky Soup cans. Use a side cutting safety opener to remove both ends of the can. The bottom end has a perfect taper that fits right into the top of a second can and you stack them in groups of 2, 3 or 4 to make sections 9", !3" or 17 1/2" long. Push them together real hard to keep them permanently joined, then insert those into each other with less force so they can be pulled apart later. And they're free. Try it sometime. I recommend the New England Clam Chowder and the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo since you need to use empty cans and those two taste great and are very filling.

@@AdventureswithSpackmann You should try these cans. It's amazing how well they fit together. Your pooch looks like he would be too rambunctious to house in such a crowded and fragile structure, especially with a fire going in the vestibule. I guess Lila's a Dog Whisperer. LOL

Love these little vids from your time camping! Come for the reviews, stay for the funny moments. I’m assuming Lilah is your daughter? Because I love that she’s camping young, as that’s how I started, and it’s why I LOVE the outdoors now, it means a lot for young people who don’t see the beauty now

You may have creosote leak out of your current flue arrangement. I've seen a few videos and a few blogs stating that the wider "bell" end should be the side pointing up, so in the event the pipe condenses creosote inside, it will drip and funnel down the bell ends rather than leak out the gap between each connection.
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
@BrokenLifeCycle that’s correct. I mention my fix for that and link the video in the description of this video. I hate an upside down pipe. Thanks for watching

I have a Tegimen hot tent. The top of the tent is 75 inches high, How high should the chimney extend above the peak of the roof? The titanium stove pipe that came with my stove Pomoly stove is 119 long. With the spark arrestor at the top, it's stands 143 inches tall! How much should I cut off, and what should I do with the piece that I cut off?
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
I’m not telling you to cut it. What if you get another tent that requires a longer pipe? But if you do cut it, do some research first but I think a good rule of thumb is at least 18” above the peak of a tent. If you cut it, you can use the extra piece to fab a stove jack sleeve like I mentioned in your other comment. Thanks for watching

I have a jack with a 3.5-inch diameter hole, but my pipe is 2.5 in diameter. Is there a way to fix this after-the-fact?
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
When I have a jack hole bigger than the pipe, or even just to help with heat displacement, I use a stove jack sleeve. Another pipe around the stove pipe to create a double wall pipe with each end open. This stabilizes the stove pipe and helps with heat. I have a video on the channel from like 2 years ago on making one. It’s super easy. Thanks for watching

To check your heat coming from the stove, you should use a stove pipe thermometer to keep your stove from running to hot. They attach to the stove pipe by magnets.

Im happy I found this video. I have a winterwell tentstove but destroyed the stovepipe which is of the type you roll. Think that design is stupid and have been looking for your type of stovepipe. The problem of course is to make it fit. I have been thinking of buying some kind of adapter, but Im not even sure about that. But I will try to buy a cheap pipe from aliexpress and see if I can make it fit. Greetings from Sweden🇸🇪🌲🪵🔥
