Beht is truly inspiring me. I have watched this video several times. I have been struggling with what type of van best suits me or a cargo trailer. Watching Beth, I like the idea of a mid sized truck like her Ford F-150. Then down the road perhaps adding a Wee Roll cargo trailer with the truck. I also like her Super Cab for other storage (refrig along with her Jackery.) Thank you Beth!

I think most people have trappings-that is to say stuff which we don't really need or use on a regular basis. There is a minimalist challenge-100 things and get rid of the rest. If you do the 100 item challenge a collection( i.e. books) count as 1 item. I firmly believe the less stuff you have helps you become free and allows you, not someone else, to own your life.

I absolutely get it! It's a huge 4wd bedroom when you live outside! I've lived out of a quad cab truck, bed in the back seat, canoe and bike on the back. I've lived out of a 4runner with a dog. Always had the bbq tank in the back and Coleman stove, and all the food, water, beer, and camping gear I could ever want! What else is there?

@@whtfolks5517 Both of you be SURE to get a big-enough truck -- most truck campers are WAY heavier than they look, and the largest ones are INSANELY heavy -- and I'm talking EMPTY (dry), not loaded up with gear (wet). Most people OVERLOAD their trucks weight-wise. Not good...or safe. ;-) I'd look into them also...but don't have the "serious" truck, so I'd have to buy both truck and camper. Also, they'd be a bit top-heavy for the off-road places I'd like to go, not to mention that many of the mountain passes in CO are out as top-heavy vehicles can be a problem with off-camber shelf roads, low overhangs and tight/steep switchbacks. Otherwise, they'd be great. Happy Travels, -- BR

Beth is an absolute gem! Her zest for life and the outdoors is infectious, and she beams with contentment and happiness! She has made herself her perfect travel cabin with everything she needs and wants, and her truck is gorgeous! A caravan that Beth is a member of is a lucky and happy caravan! Once again you show how the vehicle, equipment and fit out is so very individual to however one chooses to make it, and this lightweight, uncluttered and comfortable set up certainly looks like a good place to be. As Beth said, she lives and cooks outside and sleeps inside, the perfect balance.

Wonderful. South West Arizonians have seemed to tap into something vital for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness with CheapRVliving and Outdoor Life. Been following for about a year and Minimalizing your Stuff, while living in a RV, Pickup, Van or Conversion Vehicle is a Freedom from Living-in-one-place. Congratulations & God Bless. Good Luck & Peace.

Here is a tip for Beth , have some custom automotive shop put vents in your hood facing towards the windshield because when winter comes you want need to use your defroster because you engine will do it for you. You will save on gas or diesel Also get a hot rod magazine and look in the ads section for your carpet in the cab area, they have insulation mats that go under your carpet and it will drop the temperature from the inside about 8 to 10 degrees in the summer and keep you warmer in the winter and also use emergency blankets they keep you warm as well as newspaper like the bums on the street use. One last tip use 1gallon baggies to keep your feet and hands warm as I learned that from a Cop to help me from having my hands freeze while riding my motorcycle in 14 degree weather not including the chill factor, it was 9 degrees when I finally got home. This is exactly how I will be living.....same set up except I will have a donkey trailer behind me with my 2 mammoth donkeys in it. I plan on staying on BLM land mostly and forests. I know people think bringing equines is crazy but they are a part of me and I want to ride and pack them. Donkeys are cheaper and easier to feed than horses....healthuer too. Some people hike or bike, I ride. I am planning this all now and plan on doing this soon. Looking forward to hauling ass all over the place.😁

Im not there yet but its definitely in my near future, right now I'm living nearby for my mother, been dreaming of the vanlife for decade(s), plural. Im still debating on what vehicle to use, would like a high top van with a very simple bare basic conversion, with insolation, vent fan on top and a bed platform, also totes to store the essentials. Im 5'5" and need to stand strait up cuz of a bad back and knees, would want to be able to use the potty inside at night so im not out in the elements. Sorry for my rambling on lol

When I was a little girl, I would get a small toiletry suitcase, pack a few things in it, get my baby doll and go hide in the closet and play like I was living in it. And now as an adult living in a small space just intrigues me still.

Judging by her lifestyle, I'd say frugality. Since my wife, puppy and I been on the road, I've realized how little we actually need.
