Cheater ruined the game and my account - Helldivers 2

Guy got unlimited grenade, super speed and extracted without finishing the objective. It also boosts leveling (which ruined my account) and also gives max medals (I have spent my medals and now it's max).
Just checked and it also maxed my samples. (I had more than enough super samples, and max green. Orange was the only sample left to farm)

@@R1po Not completely new. I've avoided most PvP online multiplayer games for because of the toxic communities thay have existed, plus I suck at most FPS games. The only other PvE multiplayer game I got into was Mass Effect Andromeda's multiplayer mode on XBox One. I pretty much gave up on consoles after getting into modding on Skyrim & realized the limitations, so I switched to PC. I'll cheat & mod all day long on a single player game, but I don't bring that into multiplayer because I've seen how toxic that is. I've looked up some of the available cheats for HD2 out of curiosity due to this video & even in a private lobby, some of those could have a massive effect on the community as a whole with cheats such as "Mega Kill Counts". Would that have an effect on a major order such as the current Kill 2 Billion Bots order? Possibly, but I'm not going to be the one that tests it out.

I remember 12ish years ago in MW2 when trying to get through all of the progression on my own for fun and every time I got close to 80ish% or more before the end, an automatched server running hacks would give me 100% completion robbing me of the satisfaction of playing. I'd prestige and try again. This happened about 6 times to me and I never got to complete my goal. Hackers ruined the game for me. The way automatching worked meant I never could avoid the infected servers either.

This is why having an anti-cheat is really useless, cheaters will cheat regardless of any system you put in to stop them. For this kind of game it's better to put an automatic backup save system in so that if a cheater ruins your save you can just revert it to an older state before a cheater ruined your progression. Deep Rock Galactic does this and so should Helldivers 2. Lastly, I think the devs should remove the invasive game guard anti-cheat which is actively a threat to users systems, there's been heaps of cases of peoples OS installations becoming corrupt/inoperable due to the anti-cheat closing/deleting harmless OS files. I have also seen some hardware failures which point to the AC program causing them.

1. My report button only works for chat for sone reason 2. I leave the game or kick any asian/Cyrillic characters i see. Not worth the risk. That is the ONLY plus side to having access to a kick button that you can use as you see fit. Culture isnt an excuse, it doesnt matter how they see it. It took some work to build the reputation that Asian/Cyrillic tags invite nothing but trouble and a kick for them is completely warranted and justified at this point if you dont want any risk of cheating in your lobby. Any tag that uses Asian and Cyrillic characters should immediately be flagged by the anti cheat system and heavily monitored by default and banned upon detection or at the minimum only allowed in lobbies that are nothing but cheaters. Dedicate a server to it if you must and make it HD2 jail. Most gamers hate cheating and it goes without saying that zero tolerance should be the industry standard, despite culture that is contradictory to the rest of the gaming world. Block it off or lock it out. No one is gonna feel bad for people who have to resort to this kind of behavior because "ItS a CulTuRal STanDaRd" if they get region locked or perma banned for being assholes.

You can ask for help in the zendesk, this footage should be enough to get the cheater IP banned and you compensated and the levels unfairly gained removed, idk if they would bother with medals tho. (Not sure if AH uses it but some games Hardware ban, i.e: Since each computer's carries specific unique identifications then the game takes the graphics and CPU identification and bans them from the game, many companies refuse to do this tho since it goes against their own privacy policies, if thats the case a report with such proof could eliminate the cheater for good unless he willing to throw like 500 dollars just to cheat in a game)

his movement is explained by lagspikes and also large differences in network latencies, packet routing problems between mainland china and the rest of the world --- because of the great firewall. The game is already dirt fast in terms of progression (due to how low amount of content is here). Cutting it by cheaters entirely removes need to play to progress. Lots of people need feeling of progress to keep going.

I've seen this type of cheater in DRG, and while i definitely would describe the resultant positive resource effects on the other players as "messing with" their accounts, i wouldn't say it "ruins" them. Sure, it might trivialize progression for a while, but that's limited in HD2 due to resource caps, and eventually you'll have everything unlocked and then surplus resources will simply go to waste. And by level 60 i had everything researched and everything i wanted from all the warbonds, so by the video creator's level he should have pretty much everything earned already. This is definitely a disruption for newer players, but not for this one.

Honestly idk what brings people to cheating in a PvE game. Lucky i only got a cheater once right after release and he didnt mess with anything. The only thing he did was making himself immune to every type of dmg that exists and every sample he picked up got multiplied by 35. He just ran straight to the main objectice and 5 minutes after starting the mission we extracted with couple hundreds common and ~ 210 rare samples. I was a fresh noob and didnt even knew he cheated but thought the game was buggy until i looked into the statistic and more experienced mates called him out on it. Guess he played 5 hours max to unlock and upgrade everything and ready to quit cause its getting boring.

Poor coding or a vulnerability in the code! Usually in games values such as money and exp are stored on the servers where you can't access them, which is why some games are always requiring you to be online! But in helldivers 2 you can access these values through a gateway to the servers via some kind of vulnerability, it's not that difficult to fix however and I'm surprised they didn't do it already, but what do I know about a dead engine 😅

looks to me like all the cheater did was max out XP gain above the mission limit (thus levelling you up more then possible for a single mission, and same for medals. the title is likely similar to forcing an effect ID on a player, a lot of games are lazy with how they define some objects, can't imagine it's too hard to do. all the cheats they showed appear to be pretty low entry cheats.

Everything in a mission is shared. If the cheater was the host, all of their modifiers are shared too

That's too bad. No reason to cheat in a game like this. No reason to cheat in general, but a co-op game doesn't make sense. With that said, cheating shows they have no natural skill or merit to back up what the level or title suggests. If you're cheating, you're not even a gamer. You're a troll that no one wants around at best.

Yeah I turned off crossplay like day 2 when it became apparent that people were spoofing samples and stuff. Luckily psn doesnt have to put up with that. Unlucky pc players 😂
