You want the most effective way? Take the mortar and Gatling turrets. Take easy kill brood mother. Jump in , run to the marked spot, drop the two turrets and run back to the extraction. In 30 seconds the mission should complete and you can call for extraction

I toss an oribtal laser in the general direction of the brood commander and it finds them. I don't even leave the extraction platform. I've finished the mission in 2 minutes and 56 seconds doing this.

Fastes mission is illegal broadcast. Autocannon can snipe the tower from across the map. So drop in at extraction zone, snipe the tower and immediatly call extraction. Sub 3min is possible this way. Getting the mission is luck though...

Just something to note, the light armors make you run faster. There’s one with 50 armor and 550 for speed. It’s a good bit faster than heavier armors.

Easy missions are really good for farming common samples as well. Easily 10-15 per run, very low risk of death when properly equipped.

I love using the supply backpack with the grenade launcher. Those are my two must-haves for almost any mission because it allows me to run almost solo in group play thanks to the supply packs restoring all ammo, grenades, and stims. I'll often just kite the lesser bug swarms in a big circle around an objective and fire into bug nests or onto egg patches as they get into line of sight. If the bugs manage to damage me while I do this, the stim packs will fully restore my health and stamina so I can run at full speed once again!

The Punisher is pretty good. The Rounds Reload trait alone makes it great in a game where you are normally holding onto every last bullet in a magazine before reloading. But most guns in this game are struggling to keep up with the Breaker shotgun. It doesn't have the Rounds Reload trait, but it's bonkers in so many ways.

imo, the incendiary breaker is actually better (for terminids). it has a higher ammo count, plus tick damage with fire. i can't use the normal breaker anymore because it's so annoying having to reload every 10 seconds.

But you can land your pod directly into the tower meaning you''ll be saving like 5-10 seconds - its minor time save but you can instantly run to the evac, alternatively as I saw someone mention you can snipe it using autocannon from the evac spot if the line of sight permits it. saving you a whole run

One of the things that makes the Cluster Bomb good is that it ALSO seals bases, just like the GL. Also, EMS is actually extremely potent, but it's only necessary for higher difficulties with heavies. Standard defense missions seem to be the meta for grinding at higher levels due to having their samples just lying around and requiring a very limited number of kills.

Here's the deal though... Speed running is a legitimate tactic. But if you don't do missions with modifiers, you're handicapping yourself in the long run... Because you won't know how to run through the shit if there's no shit through which to run. So put on your hip waders, pull on your Wellingtons, and get to trudging. You'll get used to it.

I use the defence missons on mantes, it takes maybe 5 or 6 min pretty consistently and you can get more than double the xp because you can set it to higher difficulty. With mortar and gun turrets you can easly do it solo and get that sweet victory for democracy!

there is something to be said for the machine gun sentry. fire slower, but still shreds, meaning it lasts a bit longer than the gatling sentry. and it cools down a minute faster than the gatling as well. all this for a lower price. even at slightly higher difficulties it serves as a nice distraction with high availability, and can just be thrown at a bug breach to temporarily plug it. don't bother using it on 6 and above, just get the rocket sentry.

Solo medium starts requiring armor shredding. Pre 20, disposable rockets are probably the best. At 20, take the railgun every mission. It kills everything in bug or borg missions, and is the fastest for most things even while you have aggro. Turn safety off in the advanced reload menu for even better ammo economy - but now you can kill yourself Auto cannon sentries provide more than enough firepower for a bad situation. Take em. Personal shield generator is a must have once you hit 20, but before that, jump pack can save you where a dive won't - or take guard dog for extra covering fire. Last slot needs to be a good crowd clearer. If you're doing eggs, maybe 120mm or cluster so you don't have to be close to the enemy for long. HVT wants big boomie, take your biggest boomie. 500kg eagle is my favorite. For the standard "move here do this" I've been using 120mm, 380mm, eagle cluster, gatling sentry, and eagle 500kg. They all work well.

Id also like to add to do missions on trivial difficulty as enemies are easier, there’s one main objective so completing the objective takes only a couple of minutes plus 2 minutes for extraction…but most importantly it earns basically the same Xp and money as harder difficulties give, only downside is no rare samples and without searching wrecks you only get 1 medal per mission.

I am meh at the game but so far my fastest mission is on trivial at 3:10 seconds and can regularly do sub 4 mins. Light armor on the terminate broadcast mission. Hot drop on the target, throw and orbital precision strike on the tower and start booking it for the extract without looking back. So far for at least my limited skillset seems to be the fastest way to earn slips and xp. *edit* been doing that right from the beginning.

To be honest it's pointless to just level up, you should always play on the hardest difficulty available so you can get a lot loot and stuff. For example, you will have more diamond locations and additional objectives. While the mission is harder, you will get a lot more loot so it's much more worth it to play a 25-35 minute long mission because of all the various rewards you can get

Agreed. Low medals, low samples, none of the rare samples. Sure you've unlocked a bunch of stratagems, but that's it. All the cool and most useful stuff is still out of reach. Also, playing normally is just more fun. Grinding out the same two missions at the easiest setting while reducing your chances of failure as much as possible over and over for hours on end with no real reward sounds like torture. Compare that to the mission on Extreme difficulty that I had where every. single. nest. spawned two Bile Titans. It was sheer hell. We got to the evac after just finishing taking down two Titans. And what do you know? Two Bile Titans spawn along with a massive horde and several Chargers. Long story short, things went south fast. Everyone died but me and we had no more reinforcements. Which didn't matter because I was too busy running for my life trying to stay alive. The ship was too close to go too far from the platform. So I'm dodging, weaving, super man diving, blasting holes in the horde to run through, dodging between Bile Titan legs that can one shot you. The ship lands. So I make my way up to the pad as best I can. I manage to get the nearest Titan hung up on a rock. I juke a Charger and blast a few smaller bug to make my way up the ramp. There are about half a dozen of the smaller shielded bugs up on the platform. I try to lead them one way to juke them like the Charger, but one of them charges me and sends me flying. Then one of the smaller bugs takes some swipes at me while I'm down. I am now one hit from death. I super man dive to my right. This is away from the ship, but it is the clearest area. I pop my last stim. Then take another hit from two of the mini Stalkers. So I dive again. And again. Somehow I avoid the blender of swiping claws and take one last dive into the ship. I spent the next half hour coming down from the adrenaline rush. I don't know what anyone gains from denying themselves the opportunities to make such moments for themselves.

To the others: don't worry too much about this. The stratagems at higher levels are incredibly stronger and make you feel a little more safe - especially for higher difficulties. For me I am level 17 and still stuck on 5 (Hard?) difficulty and just starting to get the higher ones unlocked - feels good to have some practice with the lower difficulties and now starting to get to the incredible moments (and more often than not I am last man standing due to the nice stratagems in comparison to level 5-8 team mates; no hate, still all good - just different approach).

Ofc there's no signal towers popping up when I need em lol I just hit lvl5, did broodmother kills at 7min6sec with only the grenade launcher because I spent all my creds on dumb things beforehand. I rushed it and died twice. One thing I'd say is even if the shotgun has the highest damage, it's slow speed makes it harder for me than using the standard liberator.

I've been struggling w/ being able to join other parties & w/ finishing solo missions at Medium. So I'm glad for this vid & hopefully I'll be able to level a lil bit faster solo.

If you're using mouse/keyboard it's 5 by default. On controller it's down on D-pad.

Remember you spent $40 on this game. Playing easy (often boring) missions just to get more rewards can burn you out of the game quicker.
