Opened a ticket with BSG when this happened to me a few month ago. People were doing this on shoreline and I got killed by them on re-login and was given that BS death screen with a single 7.62 PS to the head with no record of who did it. They replied to my ticket saying that the logs provide nothing and they'd need a clip of it. Shadowplay fucks itself on game close and when you re-load and log it makes your shadow play stop and start again. Bullshit handling by them. I also haven't played in the last 2 months and it feels GREAT guys. Good time to quit or give the game a rest! Lots of good games out there that don't have nearly the same scope of cheaters.

It's not uncommon for games to expose other client IPs for VOIP. That said, I wonder... If using a VPN would be a decent countermeasure here. VPN providers should be equipped to deal with that sort of thing and worst case you just disconnect from the VPN. Just make sure to use a local exit point to not needlessly increase latency. That said, the servers are likely what gets hit, not the players. Otherwise, streams and discord would go down as well. Not to mention the fact that they only ever kick when they get killed. Why not kick people before they get killed? If they could selectively kick someone, they would. Likely the entire server goes down, so the cheater would get kicked as well.

My issue is dsync. Most your kills make no sense when you killed someone not based on skill, but on rng. It's bizarre. I've never seen something like this in other games. Yes, games lag, but dsync in Tarkov is totally different from what you experience in other games.

Had a similar experience on factory was a scav, and there was 1pmc left in raid and everyone else was a scav player we all tried rushing and shooting him but all of a sudden huge packet loss and lag no one could kill him and he was the only one on my screen that was not getting sling shot back to when the lag begin , he killed the boss looted and left and as soon as he left server and connection was fine I asked like 5 other players and they all said they could see him move around and also could not shoot him because anytime they did they would rubber band constantly, he also didn’t kill anyone other than the boss and leave

Not really, it's likely a DDoS attack which doesn't really have much to do with Tarkov itself. The problem is that in order for VOIP to happen your IP needs to be exposed, most games with VOIP will have your IP exposed (might have been some improvement on that front lately). All you need is an IP and a botnet, and you can DDoS someone, it's literally just spamming your IP with tons of connection attempts. It's up to your ISP to prevent that. Although the fact that discord and stream still function fine it's likely cheaters don't selectively kick someone but rather just crash the entire damn server.

When they hit your router with the DNS, if you want to try to get back in, you have to completely unplug your modem for like five minutes because if the DNS servers don’t see your modem for an amount of time which is normally five minutes they stop the attack

They're DDOSing the server, not the players. The fact that streamer (1:21) had that same stream VOD continuing past the disconnection proves they are not DDOSing individual players, because if you DDOS an individual their whole internet dies meaning the stream would also disconnect and end, and they would likely be disconnected from all games on all platforms. Same case with the streamer at 4:41 too. From this we can say it's highly unlikely that your IP is risked or leaked to the cheaters as far as what the cheaters currently have. If your IP was leaked to the cheaters, they would just DDOS you as this would prevent you from joining any other match or doing anything, and it generally requires a lot less effort to DDOS a household than it does a game server. The fact they are not doing this and are clearly just DDOSing the game server tells us that they don't have the players IP. Especially when these cheaters are stream sniping streamers, it would be much more of a flex to just DDOS the streamer directly than to shut down a game server.

I think I had this happen to me last night but not all the way. I started hearing constant running in place from someone nearby and when I went to look, nobody. Then the negotiation room opened. I went in and nobody was there although I watched the door open with my own eyes. I tried looting a moonshine inside and couldn’t. I figured something was up and ran to extract. That is why they were able to get your IP, because you were literally hosting the game sometimes. This is also why sometimes, people with terrible Walmart connections would get DCed whilst attempting to host a game, only to join back into the very same game after the host transitioned to another player.

I do not know how Tarkov is networked. If it is peer to peer then it is possible to get IPs from anyone in the server. It could also be possible that the voip is leaking the IPs. These attacks seem more like a ddos attack against the game server itself and not directly against the streamers as it seems to affect everyone in the server. Also, if these attacks were directed at the player/streamer specifically it would completely drop their internet if attacked with any botnet/web stressor for longer than 20 seconds or so. Unfortunately ddosing is very easy as it requires very little knowledge to do and it has a very high impact. Most “script kiddies” can just purchase these as a service.

This is what frustrates me. Tarkov has such potential but when you listen to Nikita, even in the Pestily interview, just wave away cheating concerns and give non answers like, “well it’s hard to deal with” or “we don’t want to spend months to sue cheat producers.” It shows very clearly that they’re not dedicated to dealing with the issue. If you couple that with the 33,000 bans occurring when they out the game on sale at the same time that they announce arena was a financial flop then a cynic would say that they’re silently encouraging cheating as a financial reserve. Either this will force Nikita’s hand or it might kill Tarkov. It’s absurd that it’s gotten this far.

I honestly think its the beginning of the end of Tarkov if there isnt any major fix when 1.0 goes live. If audio is still broken and cheaters rampant when it goes out of beta then people are gonna think "Yep, this is the final product. its not getting anymore overhauls" and start to leave. The "BETA" status have excused alot of flaws with tarkov, but that isnt fine anymore when the game fully releases.

Its so weird that this comes out a few days after I ran into a bug I never ran into. I loaded up for a factory run and as soon as the loading screen hit loading loot it kicked me out with that "cannot connect to server" messege. I tried to load in about 10 times(even alt f4) and it refused to let me in. I finally gave up(i was scared I was gonna loose my kit) and hit confirm leave. Luckily I didnt lose my kit. Now Im wondering if a cheater prevented everyone from loading in at all. Or if it was just another bug lol. But it was the first time I had experienced that one personally. If their routers were getting ddossed then their streams would come down. It's more likely that the server the raid is running on is getting hit... or something more specific than just someone's router. Maybe they can "ddos" your connection to BSG servers. Hell I dunno at this point. But something is going on for sure

Yeah they are most likely just focusing on ddos your connection to the BSG servers. If you truly do get hundreds of connections into your router from some random country, but your internet is fine, then it must be some targetted attack, they probably cant ddos your actual internet connection, but somehow able to target your BSG server connection. weird stuff.

It’s not that the server gets closed. It’s if you’re kicked for high latency or high ping it won’t allow you back on the same server total always say connection lost😂 the only time it allowed you back on is if it was legitimately disconnected If you have 300 ping allow you back on.

No way it actually happened to me just 2 days ago I remembered I can't believed it actually is a thing, I was playing normally yesterday and internet was fine and came up to a guy without making any noise and suddenly he was throwing nades directly at me then I got DC'ed and when I try to reconnect I was back to the home screen meaning I died also I can't report the cheater who killed me.

If he’s kicking all players, the server would shut down after detecting no active players. Causing the reconnection fails

I think we need to talk about DDoS-ing here again, as many People use this Term to say they are getting attacked and do not know what DDoS or DoS actually is. A Distributed Denial of Service is, as the Name already tells, Distributed, meaning you need a Botnet or many many Persons. DoS is a "Standard" Denial of Service and describes a single Attacker. 1 Singular Attacker BY FAR is not enough to send some Random Dude Oversea Offline! not even 3 People could do this. Most ISPs have Countermeasures, most Routers aswell (mainly for Load Balancing Issues but is a side effect of this) and over all if you DDoS or DoS someone in Germany (just as an Example) your a Felon and can even be Impriosend, because you are not only Attacking the Player abd DoS him, but you send a huge Amount of Requests over Network and may cause some Switch to Fail or Overload Switches which causes dropped Packages of other Customers and such. Why i dont think this Attack neither used a DDos or Dos? When DDoS-ing your Router, you are literally Denying the Service of said Router, meaning, the Stream would have already been ended even before you disconnected to Tarkov, as trhe Stream requires wayyyy more Bandwidth. I think the Cheat Software made use of some File Manipulation and Caused Tarkov Client to request Files it doesnt have (404) or caused Some Internal Server Error (500) and changing Death Screens (so that you cant report Cheaters) further hardens my Guess
