The guy was supposedly arrested for false reporting, but he didn't make a report. He staged it to look like there was a crime, but I don't think that what he did actually constitutes a crime.

In my state, we have a false information haux law punishable for 5 years to life in prison. What he did would have gotten him locked up for a long time.

These men don't deserve cheating spouses, but this was one dumb plan. If anything, it victimizes the woman and forces hi to be on the run like some common criminal. She the cheater won in the end, kinda.
