It's sad, but good to know that a spouse is lying and cheating and so lacking in a moral compass. It is stupid for OP to deal with this by drinking. This party idea is scorched earth for sure and the soon to be X deserves it, but this is cruel to her parents and the wife of the boss. I can see the best friend trying to help OP's wife. The wife of the boss is angry at the wrong person, it is her husband who is the perpetrator and was abusing his employee. It's good OP has a supportive boss.

Fill like this was the cliff notes version. What happened to the boss? What recoil did the company do to the wife? The husband said he wasn’t finished with the boss, what was he going to do next? So much was left out. She seemed to really love him but got caught up in the allure of a big promotion. I can understand that, though it’s still wrong. Not everyone is going to make the right choice. It wasn’t 100% malicious. More like 80% malicious as she had to lie. She had no desire to give her body to her boss. But she reluctantly did anyway. I can understand his point. A faithful marriage was more important to him while to her, a promotion and prestige was the most important to her. Now that she knows that, I would have liked to see a follow up on her reflection of that.
