That was a well revenge. As a vet I have scene the devastation a dear john letter causes. This story warmed my heart.

One of my junior high Teachers was an Army Vietnam Vet. If I remember correctly he did around 16 to 18 months there. He was a Lt during that time. This man was also an assistant Football Coach. One day after practice I was waiting for my dad to come pick me up. The conflict in Vietnam was still going on then and his baby brother had just been drafted and he was talking to me. Over time I came to hear a story about a man who was sent a Dear John letter much as the one in this story. His wife met someone and was not only living with that man but was carrying his baby. After getting that letter the man started getting careless and set off some type of a trap that made him KIA. About 2 years later that man's Sgt now a civilian was waiting outside of a diner in some US State for the happy couple to exit. He had been following them waiting for them to be together and their baby not with them. That man got 2 life sentences and the last time I checked that state's prison system website was still doing time. Yes, I know his name and I still put money in his commissary account. I have done so since that teacher passed away almost 10 years ago. It should be considered a crime to send Dear John letters to people serving in combat!

At one time it was. The 60s changed that.

I was the unfortunate one to get a dear John from my first wife while I was in a combat zone. It's not a good experience..

@@brucewindell5885 I lost one of the best Executive Assistants who ever worked for me about 6 years ago. She married a man she met who was stationed at Ft Eustis Virginia. This man got a dear John letter back as a 2LT a while after arriving in Afghanistan just after the US deployed ground troops there. The resulting events almost cost that young 2LT his career. He got past it with lots of help and his men who helped him. I was both sad about losing her and happy for them. We are internet friends today and I have seen both of her kids. Both beautiful girls like their mother!

to someone who has never been in the army, you will think that this story is not real, but to anyone who has ever been in the army, where you can only rely and trust your teammates to survive, involved in a bar fight together, doing the unimaginable together, you will know, the bond between special forces team members is absolute. per mare per terram.

I know as well as many of my brothers what dear John letter do them while serving. When brothers would get dear John letter in Vietnam it would get very dangerous because they just didn't give a shit about anything. They didn't care if they lived or died. I made the mistake of getting engaged before I went in. It wasn't long till I got my dear John letter. It was like someone shot me right in the heart. So many brothers were cheated on when I served. We had sergeants going AWOL because their wives cheated and then they would get busted down to an E1 . Lots ofvbrothers went AWOL BECAUSE of wives or girlfriends cheating on them. This story makes me feel good knowing at least one wives got some justice. But it saddens me to know a brother lost his life because of a woman. To the brothers who pulled this off a job well done. To all men don't get married or have a girlfriend while in the military because I guarantee she will either be cheating on you or you will get a dear John letter.. I have seen it all when I served.

Never thought this before but marriage vows made in good faith could definitely include ‘Semper Fi’ as a motto. Last summation by Brent is poignant.

"Only my first husband was ever able to do that" Translation: That doesn't say much about Arthur's bedroom skills. This is another all-too-familiar tale of a gal who cheats on her guy and decides to leave him for another man. I wonder, had Adam not self-deleted, if Janice would have eventually "hooked-up with him for "old times" sake...seeing as Arthur obviously was only able to satisfy her emotional needs.

Serves her right and the fact she cheated with her supposit “ new husband” proves she’s incapable of fidelity

Damn sad to say that happens a lot to people in the military seen that first hand, how people can be so cruel is beyond me, she should have learned from her first marriage not to cheat but she didn't a shame
