2nd story. My last Commanding Officer just before my discharge from the US Air Force in 1980 told me a story from his days while attending college. I never asked the years but based on his age and rank at the time I would imagine were were talking about the middle to late 1950s. His father like clockwork would travel from his childhood home to a State Prison about 2 hours away. He went to visit his oldest brother. This brother was serving a life sentence for doing basically what happened in that story. This happened in the 1920s. Then the Colonel told me back during his early years serving at Clark Air Base in the Philippines in the 1960s his father wrote him that his uncle had left this world and was at rest beside their mother. The Colonel's eyes were green, I will never forget as I sipped my coke the expression on his eyes when he told me his uncle told his father that his wife Peggy was sitting beside him and slept with him every night in his cell. When I think about cheaters and the damage left in their wake I sometimes wonder if they really understand the fire they are playing with.
