The Accuphase stuff looks impressive from the front, but not as much from the other directions compared to my Yamaha A-S3200. The stamped steel and plastic binding posts look very midrange, but I'm sure the sound is good. Love the Magnepans.

You could get them if you wanted to. Saving and basic investing would get you a system like that in no time. Sometimes I feel like the poorest guy with the system I have, but I just made realistic goals. Best of luck…S&P index!

Like pieces of jewellery, I’ve had a new Luxman now for 8 months and I enjoy looking at it as much as listening to it. I’ve had the big power house McIntosh gear but these Japanese products are something special. 😎

Neat to see the Maggie 2 series back. When Magnepan first introduced the 2 series with real ribbon I bought a pair. That was around 1990. Loved the easy going sound of the highs, the ribbon is a real treat. But the real problem was that the planar panel was not matched well with the ribbon. Let's hope Magnepan has finally been able to match the planar panel better with the ribbon.

Accuphase . Lovely stuff. I heard it at Bristol show 2023 . Sounded great. I heard Yamaha and sounded superb and dumped over Naim . Supernait . Bought as1200 for £1850 . Result 👍👍

I remember watching a review of the 280 and although not hugely powerful the reviewer said it had a nice musical character, more so actually than the higher end models. He decided to buy one for this reason, even though he has plenty of other higher end more powerful amps. Hopefully you will be able to get an Accuphase with the DAC module so you can assess the DAC.

I also have the E-280. Really love the amp. Came from a Hegel H190 which had much higher power and damping factor on paper, but the E-280 is a much nicer sounding amp with loads of power for my Totem Metals. I have the DAC-60 and its a perfect fit for it of course. Not fatiguing, great resolution. Nothing missing as far as I'm concerned

The Accuphase integrateds are nice. Considering the savings from not having to buy the extra interconnects and power cord, they a bit more attainable the price might suggest.

How would Accuphase compare to Luxman ? I was under the impression that Luxman is several notches above for not that much more $ ? I may be wrong though...

Both are great but Luxman is Chinese owned now so I’d go for Accuphase between the two.

So a new 2.7 is a $2995 1.7i with a ribbon tweeter and the price suddenly jumps to $5995?? magnepan has lost their mind!!! whoever buys this speaker is an idiot when you can get a used 3.7i for $3-4k. hell even a new 3.7i is now $10k after tax!! what happened to the days where the 1.6 was $1695, the 3.6 was $3695, etc.... hell the 3.7 was $5k and now it's $10k. I'm all for supporting local, but my paycheck sure didn't double like all the prices have in the past 2-3 years. Good luck with that magnepan.
