Vending machines in Japan are so fascinating and alluring. I always want to try all the foods you show us. Thanks for this fun video! Something I *love* about your relationship that's really noticeable in this video is how you both let the other shine in their own particular area of expertise. Shinichi, you always defer to Satoshi's body of knowledge. He is so wonderful with technology, facts and figures and directions, and such, and Japanese history, language, nature, and culture. He also has interesting opinions and is a great dancer😊 and generally an athletic, artistic, delightful, funny guy! And Satoshi, you always let Shinichi's charming personality shine. Although he says he's shy, he is so outgoing and bold in filming and traveling. He is emotionally honest and opens up to us in his "private" videos in an admirable and endearing way. He has a knowledge of the world at large and several languages, and you turn to him for that. He's conscientious and determined to make your channel work for us and for you, and you let him motivate you. Shinichi is just plain winsome! 👍 And you're both beautiful. The two of you are a team who complement (and compliment) one another perfectly. 💖 💖

We're planning to hire a car when we come back to Japan (feb 2022 at the earliest sadly.) Would love to drive to this place and check it out. I love the retro machines, and the goodies that were available back in the day

I've been drawn to vending machines of all types since I was a small child. Drop in a coin, turn, pull, push or twist a knob and boom! A surprise! Like capsule macines. Or candy dispensers. My grandma used to tell me stories about dining at an automat. Drop in a coin, lift the door and take out your food. The dawn of self service. It also brings me back to my work life. I spent several years working for a large company where the facility was so big, they had the main cafeteria in the middle but satellite break rooms with a snack bar at the far ends. There were a variety of vending machines, but I loved the carousel ones with the doors. Spin the selections...sandwiches, burgers, fruit, yougurt, cereal...if it fit in the compartment, you could find some pretty fun choices. Then stop the carousel when your choice lined up with the doors, pay and open. I can still taste the chili cheese hotdogs. There was a handy microwave for heating up your selections. I wonder about my love of these machines. Maybe it's like Las Vegas, except your gamble almost always pays and you eat what you win? 😂

Dude you guys had AUTOMATS even before that! They were restaurants with WHOLE WALLS of fresh hot food vending machines as there was a kitchen behind it with people cooking fresh foods and placing them into the windows.

I love, love, love your vending machine videos. They really brighten my mood on rough days. Unfortunately, now I won't be able to sleep until I know what's in that inside row of vending machines. A few months back, I saw the kakigōri machine on the vending machine tag on Instagram and, as a total shaved ice nerd, I have been dying to see it in action ever since. Hopefully that will be something that we can see at some point in the future.

Besides giving you a taste of the past, I think the fascination with these machines for Americans is that this is something that could not exist in the States unless there was 24 hour security! Otherwise the machines would be completely vandalized. It says alot about the present state of affairs in the U.S. Just another reason to respect the basic civility of Japanese society. 😊❤🇯🇵 Can't wait for you guys to check out the new machines. Take care and enjoy your week. ❤🛫🙏🌎

I wouldn't say it's just that, though: about the most we got for hot food here was a soup option in a hot coffee machine, but Japan was just really taking the creativity and choices to the next level and all, so I think they just got more *popular* as an institution there. America was mostly soda and candy bars and prepackaged snacks. Occasional ice cream.

I love this rural area. If you love vending machines it's definitely worth it, since people do travel for an hour or more to get a bowl of ramen. Personally I'm good with the vending machines I find in the area's I usually come. Still fun to watch though.

I’ve watched yr previous vids of the same vending machines park. To be honest, I’ve never ever tried vending machines food in Japan but I did eat quite few of vending machines in Amsterdam at Febo- great bitterballen, krokettes etc. Febo vending machines snacks there are awesome. Have you tried Febo in Amsterdam?

Japan must be the vending machine capital of the world. NY only has vending machines for snakcs and beverages, not all the hot food avaialble in Japan. Thats cool. I would love to go there. I really thought I could not afford to travel to Japan, but it seems like it might be doable if I paln right.
