One thing that I find refreshing about you, Dan... is that you're grateful for what you find and aren't cursing your claim. You go out in hopes of finding gold, but don't get mad if you don't find any or just a little. I really enjoy your channel, sir

I love it when Dan sits buy the river panning and looks at the camera for a split second and back down to the pan. It so reminds me of when Tom Hanks is trying to start a fire in the movie cast away, and he starts talking to Wilson... Dan you should name your camera Wilson, would be awesome.

I have not tried panning for gold. It looks interesting. After watching you video, I have concluded that you have the patience of Job. It would be difficult for me to sift through all that dirt for a few grains of gold. I guess that is what you have to do in order to find the big nuggets. You fit the part of what I imagine a gold prospector would look like. All you need is a donkey or borough carrying a few burlap sacks and a pick axe. I like the scenery too.

Hi Dan, I really hope you find the spot that seems to be the source. I really love watching your videos. Here in the UK as you may already know, there is nothing like the gold you find in BC. Although small amounts can be found in some rivers (I have read). The best place would be Wales and some parts of Scotland. The amount of gold found from panning is often small and - similar to other hobbies - much of the enjoyment in panning is derived from the act itself. Besides, in the UK any gold found is often Crown estate owned anyway, so selling would be "Technically" in breach of Crown estate regs. (Boooo!) So for now, I'm happy to watch you do all the legwork. Carry On Sir...

I have a question.. i found area with limonite with gold samples. flakes or micro grain..do you think i can determine if its worth collecting a bucket full of samples and try to value what i can process ... and see if its worth pursing it? The area is about to be wiped by housing development.. i was doing research on the land.. was mainly used for iron ore .. and the gold was determined not valuable enough to extract due to the type of gold it was.. being small flakes or micro gain.

Entertaining, fun and informative. I like the word "pickers" for what I understand to be a piece of gold between a nugget and a flake. What's your feeling about the word "picklet? ...pronounced like piglet..Keep up the great content Dan! (now back to my binge-ing... ;)

Looking at that crevasse, I noticed several cracks in the stones. A hammer and chisel could break apart the smaller stones, to sizes you could handle and clear the way for better clearing of the gold! It that against the rules? To break the stone apart? Now, you had such a beautiful day... Still lots of sunshine and a few pickers for the cache'. Now there was where you needed a fishing pole and a couple of worms! Just to sit and relax, and maybe catch dinner to boot!

Looks like you've ran out of Dan Hurd buckets 😊. When you get the boiler fired back up, it would be good to get your hand dredge /sucker down the hole in that crevice to reveal its hidden treasure. Have you fished there ?,every fishing doc/show regarding the white Sturgeon, all come back to the Fraser River, everytime you mention your pickerton claim I wonder if your going to cast in a line, thou from what I've seen they grow big up your neck of the woods. Cheers Craig 🍻⛏️

Milwaukee cordless tools makes a battery operated vacuum cleaner that would make short order of the loose stuff. It is surprisingly light and powerful enough to take with you. You can solar power charge the lithium batteries. I used to do auto glass and would vacuum up broken glass on a regular basis. It could suck up loose change as well.
