Back when I did installs we used to hang them up so they wouldn’t vibrate the ceiling. But we also used threaded rod or cable and unistrut. Love the content John

You can check voltage going into contactor on one leg and check to see if its coming through on same leg. Swap to other leg and do the same. Sometimes they arc together on contacts and will keep things running. Take contactor off and check continuity with it pushed in and with it released.

I love the vids, so you ever test capacitors dynamically?

I'd say he has a control problem, and the contactor is going on and off very quickly and causes the compressor to spin backwards. if you can't find anything that is causing it you can install a time delay on the outside contactor. Probably the thermostat. Thanks for the video. liked it.

Take your amps in the middle of the wire, it’s more accurate. Good job John! At least it’s not TAM unit fts, plastic garbage units!

Notice you have 2 hands free. What are you using for a camera? Go Pro with headset? Bodycam?

You know I wonder if that may be my issue I have a 5 ton two stage American standard heat pump version of this unit that the heating just randomly doesn't work swore up and down that it was going off on high or low head pressure in heating my installers are scratching their heads because it just randomly does it both the compressor and capacitor tested good. But when it's acting stupid and not heating the compressor is loud as heck and won't cool or heat.

Thankfully, our Trane XRs have Genteq capacitors! If they were Chinese, I still would replace them!!
@realSamAndrew Жыл бұрын
No we call them Corona capacitors. It's more inclusive.
@applianceman6009 Жыл бұрын
My Trane’s Genteq capacitors are not Chinese. They are the same as the old GE capacitors. I am glad I don’t have Corona capacitors!!😂

It's never a bad idea to spin the fan blade before starting it to get an idea of the condition of the bearings.

It surprises me at times some people have electric, I grew up with it. The greene thing went to going with gas. Now they want people to go electric again. Wow. Staying with gas until forced off or priced out. All my stuff is new.

It's always been about the green. But not the green they led you to believe. The other green.

So why don't you check refrigerant in heat? Also didn't see any temperature splits taken.
@johnisraelhvac2019 Жыл бұрын
Cause it’s not a heat pump. You should’ve seen that in the video. Did you see a defrost board?? Come on man

Lmaooo sorry man saw this in the early morning and my brain wasn't awake yet. I'm in Pennsylvania and I'm not used to seeing an only electric heat strip furnace.
