I always take the W wire off at T Stat and then run it to prove it when it has an 824.... the 824 will just keep restarting without ever blowing the fuse.... so if it late at night and I am all clean dressed and all, I can just give them heat without strips till next day. Moral of story is always use and 824... or better yet, change the cheap A$$ contacts before you ever install the unit !! Dad gum bean counters !!

Before you even got started , I knew right away to check the control voltage for 10-20ohms, I’m proud to say I learned that from a previous video of yours John . I’m still an apprentice, but I have a lot of installs and repairs on my belt. Thanks John 💯💯🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great video and glade to see you back. You made the job easier by pulling the heat strips out. Keep the videos rolling.

So many people would only replace the bad one. Makes much more sense to do both while you are in there. Great job.

My brother is a retired AC technician and our unit has a weird problem that he and I are having a hard time figuring out. This is what is does. It is a Amana two stage unit with a ECM condenser fan motor. The compressor now runs without any calling for anything from the thermostat and the condenser ECM fan does not turn. The compressor seems like it is getting half its voltage. We thought it was the board. We replaced the board only to have it doing the same thing. Could it be the ECM motor shortage and back feeding into the compressor to make it run with no call for anything or could it be the defrost sensor has gone bad? There is no contractor on this unit and it is a reverse cycle unit. I love your videos and thank you for keeping it clean and real! I wanted to see what you think it might be. It's a tough one!

Hello, do you have an idea of why my vents blow cold air when the heater is on? I am in an older home that was built in the early 80s. It has forced heat, and the AC says other

They should have just kept it Simple like the old units a Heater sequencer Fan relay and a transformer
@frankgonz318 ай бұрын
I don't know why they make those units so complicated. They all are the same it's just add more controls
