One very important factor that keeps a relationship going...even though most people are not ready for this conversation is Each person in a relationship deserve to be their own person,have their own space to an extent. It’s not ok to check one’s partners phone as it’s a sign of respect and trust. I have never bothered to check. I was brought up to be comfortable with being open. So during my dating days and currently, I would usually leave my phone in open places, openly type in my password and even go through messages and chats openly. Doing this created trust between us and boo found himself also mirroring what I did. Within 2 months, we could pick each others phones cos we are besties too. With this kinda openness, trust and respect we never needed to check each others phones. I have never ever checked his phone and no one has given me any reason to do so 😊. And of course I wouldn’t want my phone checked cos it would feel like he doesn’t trust me.

Nice topic. Nedu you have spoken my mind. If the man is doing what he should be doing, the woman should allow peace by not checking on hubby phone. I am happily married going to 10 years with kids but my wife never trusted me a day. She accused me of sleeping with my own blood sis, Which I found it wrong and unacceptable, apparently nothing as such ever happened. I don't hide things from her. We both have each other phone password. My problem is when checked my phone she goes through my family chat and uses whatever we discussed as a family to talk to me anytime we have arguments which i see offensive. My question. I stood my ground not to give her my password, though she accusses me of cheating on her but told her nothing of such only trying to keep my family chat away from her so she won't disrespect me or any of them. I love her and I like to make her secure around me. Should I allow her to go through my phone or stick to the boundaries i set of not giving her my phone to allow peace allow? Thanks

I am of the opinion that as partners in a relationship there should be unhindered access to each others phone. I don't see any reason why your significant other can't have access to your phone. Not for the purpose of checking but just for access sakes, the way you can have access to your partners car, clothes and other belongings. If there's nothing to hide, why hide it.
