Husband material is the only rational speaker on todays episode. Naomi surprised me today. Toun is simply scared of marriage. Nedu has a lot of generalizations. My Thoughts ; 1: Don’t call off your marriage with the exemption of domestic violence and the Bible also speaks of adultery. 2: Hapiness is not the goal of life and I feel the pseudo pursuit of “Hapiness” that ultimately leads to depression because it is an illusive factor. 3: Marriage is a contract; not a platform to get happiness. Joy comes from within you. No one can give it to you. Marriage is an agreement to be together no matter what; not to pack out because your partner is suddenly not making you happy any more: it is a futile chase

Good day guys, i agree with Nedu to a large extent. Marriage is not over rated, its beautiful and i look forward to having the best soon. Its about two people (male/female) who are matured, love each other and desire to spend their life together to build their dreams and goal in agreement. But i believe you should get married for the right reasons, not for selfish interest or to please anyone or pepper anyone! Plus you have to deal with marriage with a lot of knowledge and wisdom, its not for the senseless. Its the only institution you get a certificate even before you start schooling in marriage, what it means is that you should be prepared and ready for it. Lastly getting married shouldn't mean you should give up your personal dream, your spouse should help you achieve those personal and collective goals. And to point out, how you believe or what you take in about marriage gradually shapes your own marriage. My own piece about marriage

I feel like some people that get into situations like marriage sometimes forget that people evolve over time and the person you're getting married to today will not be the exact same person in 20 years time. They focus on marrying who the person is right now forgetting they are also marrying who the person will be.

Reading the comments section, something quickly became apparent and it's the fact that lots of people are unable to perspective take. You have to leave room for other people's differing opinions and values. Not everyone is going to see things exactly how you see it. It doesn't mean their beliefs or values are 'rubbish', Biko.

Your 3years old son gets angry whenever you give him a food he doesn't want and throws it on you, you laugh and say "😃😃 children ehh" Baby boy will lift his hands and slap you when he wants you to drop him... All you'd say is "you're beating mummy 😃" No other child in that area messes with him... And you're calling him "A no- nonsense boy" He picks up things from the ground and hits people whenever he's stopped from doing something... You smile and call him "action boy😃🤾🏿♂️🤸🏽♂️" You expose him to all manner of violence and say "He's a man, man suppose get mind" Few years down the line the teenage boy bullies his sisters, commands them around, shares slaps as souvenirs to anyone that dares to challenge him. You call him "man of the house"😃 He grew up having his way all through. Now he's a full grown man in the society. And it's not funny anymore Abusive husbands didn't fall from the sky, someone raised a boy wrongly. *It's easier to train a son than to correct a husband*. We could address a lot from the root.

The manner in which this conversation has unfolded speaks to the increasing secularism in society. Marriage not approached through the prism of deeply held religious beliefs y both parties is doomed to fail from day one in this day and age.

There are good and bad people everywhere. One thing we should understand is, it's one Nigeria. The people u see in church are still the ones u are going to see in clubs, in planes, hospital etc... don't ever make d mistake of thinking because she is a church girl or boy will make him or her better than the ones in the club. If we say all skit makers are 'brostitutes and sistitutes' that means una d3y do d same too. A club owner can make a better husband than a pastor but it will be hard to believe because the society perceive dem differently. I stand with husband material on this but I loved that at d end u all concluded with what he was trying to say about the generalisation.

I total agree with Deitycole, this is a struggle I am still dealing with my everyone. Same argument I am having with my parents. I don’t believe in the paper anymore. Commitment is from the heart and mind. It’s a conscious effort not in the tag marriage. I keep telling them and my ex partner. Peeps that are married are doing what they like everyday like they didn’t make vows and commitment to someone but we have live in partners that do better than some married couple. They support each other have a family and are happy. That doesn’t mean 10years down the line we might not decide to marry or not

The only pill for marriage is what you have to take before saying YES I DO and the pill is observe what you don't like about the partner first and check if you can get yourself to like those things you dislike about her, if you can,the marriage will work 2000% and if you can't avoid the marriage also make sure you ignore the things you like completely it's just a plus
@carolynololade41262 жыл бұрын
Thing is, I understand that the Bible stated explicitly that we should procreate but frankly speaking, I feel a good number of people are not family oriented. Of course, they’d marry for how society would perceive them. Meanwhile, one can have kids without the umbrella of marriage. Marriage in Nigeria is overrated. Nigerians would push people that aren’t family oriented (especially men) into marriage when they’re not even prepared or made for that life.
