Interesting. I am following a bloke who is testing cells for cycle life, and while vtc5a cells that are in 2.5 and 5ah packs do really well, among the best of tool cells, vtc6a used in 4 and 8ah are not so great, they loose capacity faster but can still do 1000 cycles no problem.

I havent kept up with the newest changes but i remember 25R Samung cells being used for 5Ah and 2.5 Ah batteries. Has there been a change?

@@G11IFPS that is true for lxt packs, they use either 25R or vtc5 for 5ah packs. I was talking about the xgt packs, they use different cells.

I have a 5 amp 40v battery that's never been right since I bought it .. seems to drop charge really fast . Out of warranty now .they need to redesign the indicator stickers .most of mine have come off

I see makita have an adaptor for the battery checker for checking the pdc1200 and 64v max batteries. The BTC07. It's in the catalogue

I’m aware of heat damaging the batteries. But what’s your opinion on cold? Any guide lines for us 🙏🏻

Cold is not bad for them, but they have lower performance while they are cold. Also they can't be charged fast while cold. But for long term storage it is better to have them in colder space, and not fully charged.
