Hey JD i just bought the same 98 you have as a lil project which oil you use for the gas and what the ratio you use for the mixture it would help out a lot? Big fan brother keep doing the 98 vids 💪🏻

I use Klotz TechniPlate Synthetic either the “Ski Craft” or “Outboard” oil depending on which one I can find. I do 50:1 oil mixture with 90 octane REC fuel. Good look with the ski thanks for the comment! In fact, I am going to do a 2-stroke oil video..I have like 5 different ones on hand and at the end of the day the Klotz seems to be the best you can buy.

Thanks you very much I’ll be waiting for that vid soon also do you mix outside the gas tank of the jet ski or you just fill up gas in the tank and than add the oil to the tank.

I Just bought a 97 stx 1100. It’s missing the oil plug but I think it runs. It started when I bought it. I’m eager to get it going this summer out here in Cali.

Cylinder 3 on mine is over heating when i have the water hooked to original port

You have to hook the water to the feed line from the jet pump or it will overheat on trailer..add a T fitting to the jet pump feed line and you'll be fine

Completely different engine than this one, in this video I am referring only to the 1100 two-stroke at idle. Your ski has the 1,498cc 4 cylinder 4 stroke engine

Camshaft position sensor…do you own an ohmmeter? Should be 400-600 ohms across the two terminals. Also check the connector itself for continuity

Hi mr JD!!! I have a 2017 lx160 and after an winter maintenance (oil filter, fuel filter, tank clean and battery change, the jetski dont start, and when it starts, it stops inmediately… the fuel comes correctly to the inyection ramp…it show FI error… im desperated… need your help please master 🫡😭😭😭 so thak you ❤️

You need to hold the mode and select buttons at same time to read the complete code, Fi just indicates fuel injection system related error code, that’s not the actual code. Let me know what the full code is, and I’ll look it up in the service manual.
