You mean the "bird screen" element in the factory airbox? Definitely susceptible to collecting grease and debris and could reduce airflow over time. It's stainless mesh so can be easily cleaned although I think the stock airbox is a poor design and a pain in the ass to service

It's interesting because the STX and SXR have a MAF sensor, but the Ultra LX does not and has the older aluminum manifold...they all have the extra flame arrestor, although only the newer models

Water in the cylinder when you shut it off make makes no sense. You are sure you are getting water in the cylinders? Your ski has the same temp sensor as older 12f and 15fs. After the engine gets hot and you let it sit a while it can sometimes turn over but not start due to heat throwing the overt temp sensor into play. Pouring water over that sensor will cool it off and let you start right away. But water in your cylinders is a whole other animal that needs immediate attention.

Waves hitting the back of the ski could push humidity into the cylinders. Never heard about this temp sensor problem ... maybe the time its takes me to change the sparkplugs just let it cool down. It only happened twice but one time I was quite close to the shore with 7’ plus waves ... this was a bit stressful so I hesitate cutting my engine too long when fishing now

Was the ski a saltwater ski? How many hours when you got it? It could be that there is a crack in the exhaust manifold or head and water is leaking into the engine that way..or somehow getting into the airbox...not likely as far as I know that water would flood the engine through the exhaust unless maybe waves were slamming into the back and forcing water in...do you have the stock exhaust tip? Hard to diagnose the issue without the ski...as you understand

It has 210 hours but had a new manifold and first water box - this model has two water boxes. The jet pump has also been rebuilt. Except this problem it works fine. After 4 or 5 hours sailing I almost have no water into the hull. I thought this was a conception issue common to these kawasaki riding in choppy ocean ... but reading your answer I suppose it isn’t ... I investigate on your suggestions. By the way .... love your videos😊

Of course thanks for watching! So new manifold...are you sure it was sealed correctly and is not leaking? Sometimes if the mating surfaces are warped it could be leaking water into the engine...the gasket should be an OEM type gasket- sometimes people use crappy aftermarket gaskets that don't crush properly..if it was me- and I had just replaced a manifold and now was getting water in my cylinders- I'd suspect maybe the manifold was improperly installed- check the gasket and make sure all hardware properly torqued!

You will also need a Kawasaki shaft holder tool if you are planning to reuse the pump shaft and nut. I recommend you buy an upgraded complete pump kit from Kawi Performance - I currently am running their rebuild kits on my 310, LX and STX

Those digits indicate the production plant for the plug.

Could be the driveline bearing seal assembly or could be the through hull ferrules leaking..likely If it only happens at speed under a load it's the carrier bearing seal..you have to pull the engine to replace the carrier. You will need to mount a GoPro and film the assembly while in the water to try to catch it leaking

Yeah it changes very quickly! I changed out the entire top deck piece, so I still have the top deck with the speakers mounted in my garage. I originally took them off for the wire harness replacement and then never reinstalled due to the amount of time and labor it takes
