Checking Out a Lot of Free Phones From My Neighbors | Part 1

Some friends of mine down the street remembered about a set of old phones they might still have had, and asked if I wanted them. Of course, I said yes, and they eventually located the phones (there are actually 3 different systems), along with some surprise computer cables, so here’s the first part of my initial checkout of them. The next part will come once I have batteries and adaptors for at least one of these cordless phones.
I really appreciate when people do things like this, and these neighbors really mean a lot to me.

Amazing phones you got there. I actually have the white version of that Sony phone. Love the software. The ringers are very classic. The antennas are holding up pretty well too. Even has that really nice plain look to it.

Thanks! And that’s great to know, I was hoping something like that would be the case. The people who gave me these were able to locate all the original adaptors, and with (incredibly) the belt clips for the GE and one of the AT&T handsets, so I’ll be making an update video soon. I’ve also tracked down all the batteries on Amazon and will be ordering them in a week or two.

those dongles seem like pretty rare PC components, the 3com one does to a PCMCIA card that is likely long gone. that one with composite is likely for a multimedia PC. all of these seem like rare ones that could fetch a pretty penny.

That Atkins antenna may very well be fake. Wouldn't be the first one I've seen. 2.4 GHz does not require an antenna that's nearly that long. That phone looks quite good in dark gray. Great stuff.
