Loved this place as a kid, especially the GIANT grocery store (now Weis apparently). I too loved running up and down the ramps to what used to be the control tower. Glad to see the chinese restaurant and airplane cockpit still there. Oh and that hoola hoop bubble thing. There used to be a steering wheel and tv monitor of someone driving around downtown Binghamton, used to like to pretend I was driving back then. Great video!

Yes i remember that. Under the playground use to be a computer that played a collection of games titled "The Busy World Of Richard Scary. There was also a post office the firetruck with a bunch of gear and a light and siren for kids to play with. I remember the bubble thing used to be part of a room that was all about water and water flow. So many good memories especially when our school would bring us there. Time flies huh?

Dr. Ahearn was my Mom's OB GYN at Lourdes Hosp. and would've been the one delivering me had he not been out of town that day. He loved kids and delivered a lot of babies here. That's why there is a place named Ahern at the Discovery Center. His will probably provided funding for this.
