I just got the black on black all murdered out and I love it! I added some carbon fiber accessories and it looks like the “Bat Mobile” I get stares everywhere I go and everyone gives me the “ thumbs up” .

It kind of cracks me up that some people think black looks low-key. I don’t understand that concept but I guess it’s all subjective. I think black exterior with the white and black interior is the best look. It looks classy, as well as sporty. I just ordered mine yesterday.... The other colors just look kind of standard run-of-the-mill like what you get with a Toyota or a Honda. Teslas black is awesome. You made a good choice

I contacted the Regional Tesla manager for Arizona who advised the old Silver Metallic color was available for a period of time off menu but it's no longer available.

There were two demo cars at year-end in Houston available. One blue and on midnight silver. I chose the blue one, but when I went to pick it up… My heart tugged at me so hard to switch to midnight silver. It is such a beautiful color, and even has hints of blue within. I stuck with blue, but wow the midnight silver metallic won my heart up close.

I have to go with the blue. But I do like all the colors with black being my last choice. I do find it curious that Tesla calls what is clearly not silver, midnight silver. It isn't ever light grey but rather dark grey with a hint of blue. Tesla should offer the Y in a standard light silver like the model S shown. Silver remains a best selling color in the auto industry after all.

Agree! White interior is a must have, and contrasts beautifully on MSM Performance best IMO (this is what I’m ordering). But Red, And Blue with the white interior would also be great. And who doesn’t love a good Stormtrooper look, with tinted windows on a White Performance?! Finally, if you did black, it would have to be “murdered” - fullly blacked out.

I’ve ordered black on black. Not sure why so many people on KZbin are so down on black. It’s so sleek and masculine to me. Can’t wait to get my order. Might go white seats if I can get the order sooner. Not worried about the dirt cause I regularly wash my car and park in my garage. My current car is black and it’s not a burden to keep it clean. Originally I thought white on white. But kinda looks Barbie. Now I’m liking the black. For a dude trying to keep manhood by driving SUV I think black on black is best. I like the white SEATS only in the white Int. The white dash and door panels look cheaper that the wood and Alcántara.

Right, I dig those white seats, but then you throw the door panels in and dash. Just a lot going on and not very premium materials. When you think high end, you think wood grain and suede. Not white plastic and vinyl. I may go white and switch our door panels and dash at a later date. Idk. Or just go all black. I sat in One on Friday, and Drove the white on white. Too much. All black felt like you were in it and chill. Less busy if that makes sense.

100% agree that the blue looks so good on the model y. I don't understand why! I never wanted blue but it looks amazing on this model when seeing it irl. I totally wanted charcoal/silver but it looks quite normal on the road and almost invisible in a parking lot :(

I got the White with black rims and black seats back in June. If I picked today, knowing how easily bugs show up on the front of the car, i would get the silver with the now available white seats and black rims. That looks sick!

@@knightstemplar4274 Sir, I am talking about silver color, grey is a different color. My cars are Toyota, the color code is IF7, and that color name is Classic Silver Metallic. Tesla had a similar color, but now they do not sell their cars with that color, I think it is special order, I read sometime about it.

I couldn't do a light interior, let alone white! I just wished there was an option for a dark roof lining 9n the black interior. I think the white paint looks way better without the chrome, but it would look even better if there was more depth to the colour.

My current car is painted a really gorgeous red that looks terrific whether in full sun or shade (BMW Immola Red). I was going to get the red Model Y until I saw it in full sun. It didn't look nearly as good as it did under the showroom lighting. So why pay $2000 for a mediocre red? I'll go with the white with white interior.

From 2:50 to 3:50, the black and midnight silver vehicles appear to have chrome door handles. Were those actually MY or M3? Couldn't tell if it was a sticker over the handles or if they actually were chrome.

Tesla colors are exactly in line with trends, white being most popular followed by black, gray, red and blue. Statistically, almost no cars today are sold outside of these colors. I think that’s pretty lame and as a result Teslas have no more road presence than other ICE cars

I never like grey on a car. It looks very bland and boring. Black is way more luxurious. That's why you see a lot on limos and when important people are being chauffeured around, black is the preferred color.

Great video. I have seen most of the colors in person and I like them all for different reasons (except for maybe the black). I ordered the blue with white interior non-performance with Gemini wheels. One thing I noted on the blue is that the black trim pieces and "chrome delete" handles tend to get a bit washed out with the dark blue. One body/detail shop in SoCal posted pics on one of the forums of painted the rocker panels, bumper covers, etc. to match the blue and it seemed to look a bit higher end. I also think chrome/silver goes well with dark blue (a classic combination) so it may be worth exploring a "chrome undelete". For the rest of the colors, the chrome delete looks great. Especially so on the white.
