Nigel, great photos! I'm primarily an LR/PS user, but have Luminar Neo and Topaz Photo AI for various parts of my workflow. I should point out for folks interested in Luminar Neo that if you are going to edit directly in Neo and you are starting with a RAW photo, you should FIRST use the Develop RAW tool before using any other tool. After that, the base RAW settings are "baked in" for the rest of the tools. If you look at around 9:09 in the video Nigel first went to Enhance instead of Develop RAW. At that moment the "RAW" designation next to Develop disappeared because he started making edits before editing the basic RAW settings. As with all of the Neo tools, you can always go back and tweak the Develop RAW settings by going into the "Edit" panel on the upper right hand, next to "Tools." But applying RAW settings after you've added other tools may affect all of the changes that you already made so you may have to go back an adjust each tool that you have applied.

Really enjoyed watching these edits! Thank you for not cutting away from the image while you’re talking about it. It seems most only show the image when they’re actually doing something to it. I like to be able to continue studying it while you’re talking about it. Leaving yourself in the inset video was perfect!

Wow, Luminar's capabilities are impressive! But what truly fascinates me is your image processing workflow. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I wish I could have been on that workshop! I live in Dorset and follow you and Jack closely. Wonderful pictures and always a pleasure to see your edits! Excited for Sunday's video :)

Great to see you again Nigel. Thanks for test driving the Luminar software. I used to use it but I settled into focusing on LR and PS with all the updates. This overview might make me revisit the program. Enjoy the fun with the camper van.

You and i have had the same reaction to Luminar. I keep expecting it to not work and then I adjust something and I'm like...damn...I really like that!

Thank you Nigel for a great video. Lovely photos. I was really interested in your Luminar editing. I have just got it. Always steered clear of it because I had the impression that it was too generic and without the control of Lightroom and Photoshop but I am doing an academic paper that requires a comparison of an editing program with Photoshop as a bench mark. This video was really informative so I'm off to have a closer look at Luminar.

Great to see how you use Luminar.... I've used it as a Lightroom plug in since it's release, however I purchased the lifetime addition at the time but now all the extentions are additional features which I am not prepared to pay any extra for.... but great results Mr D 👍🏻

Luminar is my first editing software. I bought it for its simplicity and I didn't want to subscribe to LR/PS and it was cheaper. After a few heavy handed attempts the results are now brilliant and quick and I tend to use the enhance tool first then tweak. It does just about everything but the print option seems basic to me but I'm no expert.

I quite enjoy using Luminar. Its easy, good for fun edits especially sunset stuff. Also use lightroom too. Not into adding random stuff in. It has a cool sunburst feature too.

I think the last time I photographed Corfe Castle, was probably with my old OM4, or maybe even an OM1, about 35 years ago. I haven't been back to the UK for a long time.

I use it with the Oly raw convertor & Topaz Denoise AI. I'm an amateur and I enjoy photography rather than image manipulation. Bought PS CS2 a long time back hardly used it...

One of my biggest problems with Neo is the performance. I have a pretty decent PC but some of the functions and operations take forever to complete and render. Time to go to the shops and back. I think I have heard you say before that you use a Mac, and that keyboard looks Mac-like, so I wonder if Neo performs better on a Mac than a PC (not that you would know necessarily). Would it be OK to share your hardware setup? Performance on your set up is way better than mine.

I thought you offered a "Lightroom Master Class" on your web site which I don't see any more. Am I missing something or are you not offering it anymore. I am a beginner at "Lightroom" and other such programs. Where should I start? Thanks. Love what you are doing here but its just way over my head. (The castle adjustments)

Definitely you are missing something, he made quite a lot of videos for Lightroom beginners, yoh should definitely watch it, it's worth 👍

Very sorry to have to disagree with an artist whose work I really admire, but I believe it’s insufficient to merely state at 3:23 that everyone has the right to do whatever they please with their images. While that’s technically true to the extent that it really goes without saying, what photographers don’t have the right to do is replace huge chunks of their images with AI algorithms developed by programmers and claim that the end result is a photograph, when by definition it just isn’t.

Writing off the next few weeks of photography videos I think. Skylum doing the rounds with everyone it seems. Third in the past week of "some quick edits" from photographers I follow :( Got to pay the bills I suppose.

Luminar is good but it’s not complete. Having to Purchase extra effects turned me right off it. Lightroom and photoshop all the way for me.

I am feeling a bit disappointed that you seem to be drifting towards AI, I hope this isn't going to be a permanent direction. I enjoy the way you develop your pictures in Lightroom and now all you have to do is virtually just touch a button and its done. I personally wouldn't move to Luminar, From what i see you can pretty much tell that it's AI. I maybe I am a stick in the mud but the Lightroom results definitely look more natural to me. I hope you are not offended but I just wanted to make my feelings known Brian

This may be ‘The Future’ but the amount of AI employed here seems wrong…at least to call it one’s own image using all original pixels captured by the camera.
