Don't know if it helps anyone at all but i was looking at a lot of these cheap pitch shifting pedals and recently got a similar Donner Harmonic square pedal purely to get my JIVA 10 in D standard (for 80's metal stuff) without having to spend ages with the setup and it works great for that. as long as you only go down 1-3 notches its fine but it does start to lose tone the lower you go but you can kinda fight against it with your amp settings but the sweet spot is definitely only going I got the pedal purely for this but actually have a lot of fun with it, you can harmonize some killer Leads and even kinda emulate a 12 string. I was not expecting a pedal this cheap to be this good. Because it gives you wet/dry control you can fully cut out the regular tuning and have only the higher or lower tuning come through (without the harmony as shown here) as well as blend what you want and im pretty sure it costs the same as this, if not a little cheaper.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've seen the Harmonic Square can't don't single semitones. So you wouldn't be able to detune in half steps. So no E to E flat and vice versa. Kinda of defeats the purpose for me.

Quick question for anyone who has one, does the knob create a scratchy sound or any sound when turning it rapidly between settings on any of the 3 modes? I bought one a while back and it seemed a bit defective - was making unwanted noises as I switched between settings. - perhaps that one was a dud.

Do you find it of for drop tuning a quarter or half step or more OK for the metal? Some reviews it has a little chorus. Then again so does the drop tune pedal.

I think, like most shifters, it does better the lower the shift amount. So it will do one or two half steps pretty well. But the more you shift it, the more it starts to sound more artificial.

So I’m kinda confused. Would this pedal allow me to play songs in D or C standard while my guitar is still in E? I’m trying to look for a pedal that will allow me to do that so I don’t need a whole new setup for my guitar

he does say that it only works for single note or double note lines, but doesn't track well for more than that, e.g triads or chords....check his wrap up of the pitch shift section 9:50 on...

I just bought one of these and non of my cables work with it. I've used 9 volt, 12 volt & 24 volt. Took it somewhere who has a ton of pedals and his 24 volt plug worked perfectly with it. Now I don't wanna sink about 15 quid on a cable that might not work!

In pitch shift mode you can drop the whole guitar down a while step (or 2). But if you're looking to just drop the low E to D or C, no pedal will do that.
