"Yuusha" (which can mean "brave" but also "hero") is the opening to Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. It's a story about an elf mage who helped save the world from the Demon Lord, and then wandered off for half a century. By the time she realized so much time had passed, her human friends were already near the end of their lives. Now, she seeks to understand more about humanity, short-lived as they are, even though it is far too late to learn more about those she left behind. It's mostly a slow-paced and contemplative series that focuses on character dynamics than action, but it also has some stellar fight scenes. It also has some great music aside from the opening, including folk inspired music like "Zoltraak." I also recommend checking out the series' ending, "Anytime Anywhere," which is scientifically calculated to hit you right in the feels.

Yoasobi also did the OP "Idol" for Oshi no Ko whichset the record for the longest-running number one in the Japan Hot 100 history for 22 non-consecutive weeks, and the first Japanese act to top the Billboard Global Excl. US, as well as the 2023 nineteenth best-selling global song, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Th show is about the J-Pop Idol culture and industry and is fenomial. The song slaps like Hercules using his full arm.

I went to a concert last friday with a symphony orchestra playing video game music! 😊It was absolutely amazing. Now this orchestral set has been around for maybe 15 years now. And it has been shown on swedish TV. There are especially two fantastic performances. 1: The Dragonborn comes 2: Bloodborne-Suite Both are with The swedish radio symphony orchestra and vocalist Sabina Zweiacker. Would love to see you react to those pieces.

If you come back to the ost for this a few more great ones I would recommend listening to would be Anytime Anywhere, Zoltraak, Time Flows Ever Onward, Journey of a Lifetime, and Fear Brought Me This Far. There’s many more I would recommend, but the full ost hasn’t been released yet. These are just the ones officially available so far. Great video as always😄

hey Geebz, you should include "Frieren" in the title, as this is the English and most recognized version of the anime people know :)

@@rpgeebzmusicarcade no problem! it says "Yoasobi OST" but the anime is Frieren, Yoasobi is the artist who recorded this intro song!

Yoasobi is one of the best musical duos out there at the moment they have managed to consistently make the most energetic pop-y songs for abime openings in the market A favorite of mine is IDOL, which is basically the perfect idol-pop song, and it served as the opening for a show about the darker realities of showbiz in japan

You absolutely need to do "Requiem of Silence". It's quite possibly the greatest OST in anime history. It's one of those scores where you can feel the emotion

Anyway, what I love about this song is that minor climb in the chorus as the lyrics are about not understanding why the tears are coming out. People criticized this opening as not feeling thematically appropriate for what they perceived as a "Tolkein-esque" fantasy setting, being too modern and exotic sounding, and while I understand where those people are coming from, I feel that the real purpose of this opening is to capture and reflect the titular character's emotional state and sentiment. She's feeling the feelings of sadness, loss, loneliness, regret, etc, that are associated with the death of a loved one in a new way for the "first time". That climb in the hook represents those feelings building up and spilling out as she cries out.

The fact that this song is fast-paced really fits with Frieren’s vision of time, or the speed at which her memories come to her mind
@silbury232510 ай бұрын
@@isafox4443 Also the contrast between the meaty instrumental against the softer voice is nice. It gives you the sense that if Frieren was a pop singer she would sing like this

I love that the Japanese associate "Heroism" with "Bravery" because it takes balls to go against Japanese social norms and confront bad situations and nobody will ever actually think of you as a hero. In the west, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. In the east, the nail that sticks out gets the hammer. It doesn't matter if you're correct, if you're the only one standing out, everyone considers YOU the problem. The hero that will never be sung about.

Yuusha (勇者) is a fun song, but my favorite song by Yoasobi is Moshimo Inochi ga Egaketara (もしも命が描けたら - If I Could Draw Life). It's a beautiful song.

This was originally composed as a Vocaloid i am almost sure. I don't know if you are familiar but Vocaloid is synthetic vocals and it's great for composing songs because you can do an infinite amount of composing and recomposing vocals included.

One of the tracks already released from the OST is "Zoltraak" (the name of a deadly spell) by composer Evan Call (he also made the OST for the anime Violet Evergarden, a story on its own). There are so many things in it I found it a bit overwhelming once I paid attention to the details. Take a look if You will. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2jKnpKobc2Lpbc

IMO this intro REALLY failed to capture the feeling and themes of the show, although I do think it's a great track. Highly recommend checking it out from another dude with a lil more salt than pepper lol. First episode alone had me tearing up, and it constantly left me wanting more while feeling oddly emotionally fulfilled at the same time. Very well-made show. You might also check out the soundtrack from Berserk, it's a bit of a jump from this, but Guts' Theme alone has reached internet immortality with it's popularity and the sheer amount of memes made about the song.
