Checking the Numbers on a MG Midget S1E3

My 67 turns out to be a 65 after checking the VIN and engine numbers.

Question for you sir, I have a 71 midget but the title says 73 and I have to get a rubbing of the vin number to get it transferred into my name but the number on the title is different than on the car, so what do I do?

It doesn’t surprise me that the title says 73 but the vin is a 71. It was probably manufactured in 71 but not titled and registered until 73. I am not sure what you do if the title and the vin don’t match. Where are you located?

In Pa and the car is from NJ

You will need to check the regulations in PA. I have never had to do a rubbing on the vin plate before.
