I still wonder why the hinge pins haven't become easily interchangeable, as on the latest models, as also for the back triangle. Finn. Denmark

Anyone else notice the Nickel edition poster? Is this from 2016 or is there another coming?

Actual used bike. I am impressed. Almost thought they where doing to throw it in the bin and say something like "buy a new one in this year's colours"

Where did they find these old worn out things? In a pyramid? I thought the macarena shifting dance was supposed to feel crunchy. These are '70's bikes they are supposed to be sloppy, but krikey these are f'ed up bikes, if you didn't notice any of this stuff your shoes are probably flapplng , And you should make sure the tires aren't both flat

My guess is they are bikes from the rental lockers that brompton do where anyone can pay to use the bike for the day/week etc. I noticed one of the bikes has a blue lever for folding the bike and a purple seat post clamp which is something they do on rental bikes so it stands out for new users that they are the parts needed to fold/unfold. Don't be gentle its a rental

Quite a few people ride well over 5000km/year on their Brompton. One of my friend managed to get above 100000km out of their. I can't comment on how many of the original parts are still on it, but it's still going! Most I know ride their drivetrain to the ground given how affordable sprockets are. There is no point switching chain at 50% wear to save an expensive cassette.

@@samuelbreton9061 I brush my teeth more than needed and take a bath more than actual data indicates I should. What is the consequence, really of riding these things int the ground and just replacing the whole thing? maybe wear is just a data point. like my arthralgias.

Some people ride their bikes...

@@peterwillson1355 Pretty much agree. On a SS or 3sp you can let things go, and some folks can tolerate a sloppy tool that just seems to work. They are running ~$1400-1600 for anything not base 3sp and a little bit of care preserves the investment almost forever.
