The beer companies have been on a spending spree and most of your "craft" breweries that you see at the supermarket is also owned by the big brewers. Truth is like many industries "Millenials are killing", beer across the board is seeing declining sales. This is partially the fault that Millennials do not have the same disposable income as generations before it, but also millennials have less leisure time. If anything I would say energy drinks are replacing beer for this generation, with the need to be constantly hustling for a new gig or the need to stay focused while you blow off steam by playing a game.

@@MajorMlgNoob that is true they certainly cannot produce on the same scale. And if they would it would not be of same quality. It is just the part where they say beer drinkers switched to wine that is absolutely false. We simply switched to better beer, been over 12 years for me - and a few likeminded friends, since we bought the last lager at the supermarket. Microbrew has been growing in market share in the last decade that is a fact. This is where their losses are coming from, true beer lovers dont just "switch to wine". Can you even get drunk from Bud Light? It feels more like poisoning to me last time I tried it. Instant headache after second beer and starting to feel heavy and tired, acompanied by stomach aches at times too. Never happens with more expensive craft beers with much higher alcohol abv, isnt that a bit strange. A 6pack of industrial lager will get me absolutely wasted - I call it poisoned, but drink a 6 pack of 7-8% double or triple ipa you will simply be drunk but not wasted.

It is gradually changed, especially the last ten years or so to about one fourth beer, one fourth wine, one fourth spirits, and one fourth going dry. When they do drink beer, it is mostly the more expensive craft beers. Rather than drink a case of Natural Light, they would rather drink a six pack of something high end.I don;t know why this has happened.... but I have a theory.

A big factor I think is drinking age laws. Used to be in a lot of states you could get beer at 18, wine and spirits at 21. This gave beer a natural advantage as it was much easier to obtain. For some companies, their top product by volume is unwarranted demand. They produce loads of it and then they produce other things to meet the demand for things people shouldn't have wanted. Fast fashion is an examples of this.

You repeated the same information several times. “Instead of drinking beer they drink spirit or wine”
@opinionateddrone4 жыл бұрын
Hey, did they mention that instead of drinking beer, people are drinking more wine and spirits? Cuz I'm pretty sure that's the take away from this video. These companies think we all stopped drinking beer and switched to wine and spirits. She hit the nail on the head the one and only time she mentioned marijuana being more popular in the last few seconds of the video.

Video only addresses sales of the big three. I suspect Americans are paying more than ever for beer, but no one wants to drink piss anymore. College kids are drinking even cheaper beers like natty, and people with more money are drinking less but more expensive volume. It's possible beer sales are declining generally, but using sales of the biggest companies as a proxy for the health of a product is unintelligent. It's like looking at the stock market as a proxy for the whole economy- stock prices say little about what's happening across america.

I’m actually buying more beer than ever before during COVID, I’ve just switched to supporting smaller scale local breweries, not multi-brand beer mega-corporations. I’m now finally exploring all sorts of beers I never had the pleasure of tasting, and at times finding brands I actually enjoy way more for less cost. Why wouldn’t I make the switch?
