Technically speaking about the Sri Lanka series - Their prime fast bowlers are injured/not fit to play. They have only spinners in hand to play the series hence the wicket were made to spin which off-late is Indian batting line up's weakness point. Also dropping KL is a big mistake. I personally felt, you can't run Indian team with the mindset of running IPL team/league teams. Other takeaways are SIraj - Need some rest to get back to his form both physically and Mentally Rohit - He is now playing with no burden, he has only one thing - 50 Over World cup in his mind VK - You know no one can point the finger at him as he has shown how to come back and win big games for India Washi - Happy to see his performances at International level, hope we will continue to see him raising up the ranks R.Parag - Mark my words, he is gonna be the next sensation for Team India and I feel he is a generational player. G.G & Team - its a wake up call not sure will they learn from it or not.

I think there are a lot of players who deserve additional chances. Some that come to my mind are Gaikwad, Ishaan Kishan, SKY, Samson, Natarajan and I think India should also consider someone like Rinku Singh, Sarfaraz and in fact there is no reason to not try Jaiswal at the top. But more importantly India's pace bowling is a serious worry. In the absence of Bumrah, you have an ageing Shami and a very inconsistent Siraj. Arshdeep Singh is promising and should be given ample opportunities. I think Gill though he has potential possibly gets preferential treatment over someone like say Ishaan Kishan or Gaikwad or Jaiswal.
